Dropping Siamese Dream and Images & Words - those albums have the same effect on me that they're talking about. You carry that feeling for life. He's right about Colors. It HIT at the right place and time. They've definitely grown as artists since, but there's just something about Colors. I'd known about them since the silent circus, but Colors was hook, line, and sinker; fan for life.

Jeff Loomis INSTANTLY came to mind during that section. Feels inspired by Water Dragon.

I was about to go watch the original video, but then I realized I prefer watching Dean get sad over guitar technique. Jk, of course, you both are great musicians.

Spiro Dussias sounds like something you might have contracted in a prison during the Spanish Inquisition.

When I see you do these super percussive riffs you always have lead tone. This guy has like no gain and almost no decay on the reverb.

I hope that you saying thump is his signature doesn’t dissuade you - in fact, including that technique in Archspire arsenal will make you even more tech and amazing.

Somewhat similar to what Vincen Garcia does on bass.

I don't know his influences but that tone/backing instruments is real evocative of Mick Gordon/DooM Metal

Ah yes i remember 2006 my bandmate had this stupid bc rich (warlock or beast?) with this speedloader floyd system that required special strings. it had the classic bcrich ballsack headstock, but no tuners. so it wasn't headless but the head doesn't had any funktion, like in modern sociey

I guess you need to love metal for this. It's truly impressive technique, though.
