That a really impressive round from Swisher, given the score and the position he was left when going to a 1v4 situation. If you're left at the palace on a 1v4, that's one thing, but in the middle, it's nerve wrecking - even though he had info - 'cause people can peek you from anywhere, you can get a flash pick from anywhere, it's really really bad. Also, his last peek was a whole damn lesson.
@mikhaillastname8719
@mikhaillastname8719 3 жыл бұрын
you are getting to know peeking habits the more you play. for example on dust2 B afterplant t's will peek window 90% of the time. so when retaking/exit-fragging as a CT u just need to hold an angle towards window and wait.

I'd say less vids from Swisher, the topic was entryfragging and the second clip he analysed was totally unrelated, he even flexed how perfectly he played itXD and the way he speaks, his pauses between thoughts, lack of advanced and well used vocabulary really hurt that vid, I'd never say he's a native speaker.

@@grekucs I agree the second clip was unrelated, but you do have to appreciate the fact he actually broke that 1v4 down into simple terms. Swisher could've easily used some mumbo jumbo vocabulary to confuse the untrained viewer, instead he uses simple vocabulary. Also pausing between thoughts is not a sign of ignorance (lack of knowledge), it is a sign of introspectiveness (looking inward).

Honestly, Silvers are not THAT bad as they used to be back in the old days. I think the reason a lot of silvers are good yet in such low ranks still are because of the smurfs, hackers and assholes in general. @@theconqueror12 I think this is much more meaningful in NA than EU, your MM playerbase is so small that the ranks don't even work properly, not to mention cheaters pushing people down the ladder... they just won a first round after loosing streak, so probably 1 or 2 awps transformed into 3 by peeking enemy weapons. still that's a common mistake on lower ranks to buy too many awps - a competent opponent could easily abuse that.

Good analysis and all but I wish the pro section would've been more traditional entry situations. The first pro clip showcases some important entry fragging notions but starts with an aggressive CT getting punished. A clip with a more passive CT would've been more relevant imo. The second pro clip is great and well commentated too but it's not really about entry fragging.

Love what Swisher said about throwing off timings (final clip). I've seen that hundreds of times. Delay an obvious re-peek by a few seconds and your opponent's mind will start to wander. Not sure if it's overthinking or simple boredom, but you can get a startle out of them with a delay.
@TheJacklikesvideos
@TheJacklikesvideos Жыл бұрын
the longer someone holds an angle, the longer it takes them to react once someone shows. you slip from "any second now" to "oh, there it was." once he doesn't see the instant repeek, he starts wondering if the other player moved on to another position, if it's time for them to take another position, doubts pile on and you become increasingly unable to react.

Solo queuing in silver is a death sentence. You need at least one friend who you know is similar skill who can play with you. requirements of a silver: - “my teammates are so bad” - “im always topfragging” - “i dont deserve to be here”
@DodInTheSky
@DodInTheSky 3 жыл бұрын
@@melancholy3843 The player base just gets better over time. CS is not a game that is going to get many new players interested in it, so there are not enough real noobs to fill silver ranks. In its prime, CS was one of the most popular online games and climbing ranks was easy. Too easy in fact, so Valve decided to derank everyone because Global Elite was not "elite enough" anymore. Though I agree with "my teammates are so bad". Russian silvers have a deathwish. They rush, die all, then spawn and rush again. If you don't rush with them and try to make some plays instead - you get kicked. Even bots try harder.

as someone who always played like that, you first need to understand what someone would do in a normal cenario, and then think of something that could catch them off guard (i like to play with timings). For example, i love to just push palace mirage full W as T, i always catch either stairs off-guard or default/firebox. When they hear me, the A players is usually throwing utilities thinking its a rush, and since im just pushing like a maniac, i dont give them time to reset. And if they only hear me and know its not a rush, they simply not believe that i will simply dry peek them. I also like to do that in Water/Sandbags in Overpass. Nobody who controls water pushes sandbags right away, people first take control, set up a few utilities and then execute. I like to just push, i always catch someone out of position, and if i get lucky, i can even get a free A backstab.

Go into competitive against bots and put eoundtime to 60 minutes and kick all bots, then walk around the map and look for weird angles you can hold and time how long it takes you to reach different locations, after you know the time it takes it let's you analyse how the enemy team plays and surprise them, I was surprised that I play like art when I checked his highlights, except I'm nowhere near halfway to his skill, I usually duck the first few rounds as it takes time for me to analyse how the enemy team plays, also a good thing I like to do is in warmup is to rush with default pistol and just test their aim, how fast they kill or how good they are, and never camp somewhere you would in a round as you will kill them there in warm up and cause of that they might be checking that corner in the round when normally they wouldn't expect you there. It's all a big mind game.

What exactly do you mean when you say "peeker's advantage"? People seem to have a lot of misconceptions about Source networking and what fights are advantageous for which reasons.

Are you implying there's no peeker's advantage in csgo?
@0dWHOHWb0
@0dWHOHWb0 3 жыл бұрын
@@zilliq Not in the way that a lot of people think. If the person holdding the angle has high ping, the peeker can have an advantage, but in other cases peeker's advantage boils down to the element of surprise and prefiring basically.
@zilliq
@zilliq 3 жыл бұрын
@@0dWHOHWb0 I agree there's also a part of "being ready". Just wanna add that peeker's advantage goes both way : whether the peeker or the holder has high ping the peeker will see the holder slightly before

@@0dWHOHWb0 correct me if I'm wrong but the server needs to know when the peeker sent the strafe command to update and send to holder. If peeker has high ping the server receives this strafe command late and as a result holder receives the information delayed as well I used this quite a lot in valorant when I played with 200 ping because the country I live in didn't have access to the game

What I've learned from these videos and smurfing and/or playing in the actual ranks: Silver: Bad mechanics, bad aim, a lot of confusion. Will sometimes miss even if you are literally not moving. Rare blinks of right ideas in the general sense. Poor execution. Lots of memes. Gold nova: Thinking when taking aim duels, counter strafing takes effort. Will kill you if you are standing still like a bot. Some team coordination can be seen, but poor execution. Easy AWP shots missed are often. Easy sprays failed. POOR INFO - Lots of tunnel vision. Will call you a hacker if you can use the deagle. Master Guardians + LE : Sloppy mechanics and aim, but will punish most major mistakes in positioning, especially with the AWP. Team coordination differs greatly from team to team ranging from trying to refrag and failing, to reasonably timed refrags. Premades will flash for each others, but generally not randoms. Some basic smoke meta develops on both CT and T side. Some failed sprays and AWP shots, but not often. Some communication on kills/deaths. Less tunnel vision. LEM, Supreme and GE: Resonable mechanics and aim, especially in GE. You WILL be punished for positioning mistakes, not just with the AWP but most weapons. Chance to see a player fail more than 10 bullets in a spray becomes rare. CT side smokes are a given. Basic (T side) full-site smoke executes are seen with randoms. Advanced site takes with premades. People will generally refrag quickly and take map control in groups. Dry peeking into AWPs becomes hard. Info pushes/flanks can be spotted. Extremely rare tunnel vision. General sense of map awareness develops. Level 7~9 faceit EU: (1550~2000 elo) Lots of practice time needed to reach this level. Accurate mechanics and aim, even with deagle. General CS default meta knowledge on almost every player, unless brain-dead with god aim. Time to kill becomes very low. Advanced teamplay forming between randoms. 5 stacks team practices with advanced smoke setups but mediocre execution and/or aim, seen in this elo. Can fully understand general PRO CS meta, but problems in applying some aspects in pugs because of lack of skill and/or TILT. LOTS OF TILT. Dry peeking into AWPs is extremely hard even for pro players. Dry peeking into rifles still EASY for pros though. Posible to reach with crisp mechanics and general gamesense, but no need for deeper understanding of meta. Utility usage becomes paramount on CT side. On T side, players have a general understanding on countering CT side AWPS with utility and trades. Level 10 faceit EU PREMIUM(3 stack max): (2001-2500 elo) Can smurf in global. Ferarri peeked insta 1 tapped by deagle becomes normal. Advanced gamesense needed. Fast refrags become normal. Less team chaos even without calls. Everyone has a good idea of what a T side default is for all maps and will also manage economy without a second thought. Randoms call for flashes and pop flash each other. Randoms help each other make plays without verbal communication (based on visual info). Post plant positions are rarely chaotic. Most players can adapt playstyle to match enemy mid game. Level 10 faceit EU PREMIUM(3 stack max): (2501-3100 elo) Dedicated CS players. Aim becomes crisp, mechanics are well practiced. A lot of players can semi-IGL and have ideas on T side attack execution. Refrags, mechanics, economy, defaults come without thinking. Focus is on taking proper aim duels and winning them, forcing map control and countering enemy CT side setups. Level 10 faceit EU PREM... 3300+ ELO Extremely practiced players. Nearing semi-pro skill level in mechanics. Can destroy lower elo lobbys with pure mechanics.
