There were several parallels to the 2005 Final Four run that season. #4 Louisville vs. #5 New Mexico (2004 Maui Invitational, Steve Alford's then Iowa team advanced to play UNC) #4 Louisville vs. #1 Michigan State (2009 Midwest Region Elite 8, and in 2005 the #1 seed in the West - Washington, lost 93-79) #4 Louisville vs. #7 Florida (UF's three point shooting was somewhat reminiscent of John Beilein's WVU team who shot lights out, and the Cards held off Florida in Gainesville 74-70 - December 2004)

Louisville v UK play ONCE a year! If they play twice, that means it's in a postseason tournament! Duke, UNC play at least twice and sometimes 3times a year, just in reg/post season games in ACC. The loser of Louisville/UK hears about it alllllll year! And there's hate between the 2. Y'all rivalry is soft in comparison!!!

Hell Rupp Arena is 35 + years older than the KFC Chicken Bucket but still holds more fans, Uk has more championships in overall sports...
