What happened to your face? That's the same question I received from a coworker. I was so offended, the hurt sent me to a dermatologist and my experience with the same medication Retin A saved my face. Don't ever ask that question people!!! If you use it clean face, apply moisturizer, allow to dry then apply a pea size amount of the medication. And I repeat use PHYSICAL SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY! I use it every other day.

Girlll one of my professors asked me "What's wrong with your face? Breakouts? Guess you're still growing up". She's pointed out my acne 3 times and keeps acting surprised each time she does. Like, woman, you and I both know VERY WELL that I have acne. I'm 21 and still get acne so it's not even the teenage kind of acne that just goes away. This is adult acne and it sucks 🙃🙃🙂

@@Shoofly000 don’t let her get to you. Who the hell asks that 🤦🏾♀️I would simply ignore because acne is very common and it doesn’t make you less of a person.
@Shoofly0003 жыл бұрын
@@ann-marie808 That's what I do, ignore her. But that makes her even more adamant to ask the same question again and again till she gets a response. It's a small class so we can all see each others' faces very well, so it's even worse cause everyone can see my acne when she points it out IN FRONT of the class. Another student asked me the same question when I had an eczema breakout and then his friend joined in and asked me if I was sick cause my face looked so red. Eventually, the professor asked them to leave me alone, but their behavior was only encouraged by the professors constant comments about my skin. It just never stops. If I try to defend myself or tell them to mind their business, they call me aggressive and say they're only asking cause they care and my skin could "use the help". I'm so done.

Love your skin beautiful ❤️ i am also currently on my tretinion journey and speaking from my experience 1) Avoid warm/hot water to wash ur face. Use only cold water. 2) do not exfoliate with strong chemicals ( use basic exfoliator but use it once in 10 days or once a week if your skin allows you ) if not then do it once in 2 weeks. Do not rub hard, be gentle. 3) use face mask once a week or once in 10 days but better to do it on the day when u r not exfoliating-your face. Try not to mix too many steps in one night, the simple the routine the better it is and less irritating it will be. 4) if u r starting with tretinion from using once a week then u may use it bare face and then use moisturiser. But if you want to start with 2-3 days a week then use moisturiser first and then tretinion. Also always wait for 30 mins in between both the steps. Hope this information helps ! ❤️❤️❤️
@ninobk1964 жыл бұрын
Also do not use active products. Basically when you use Tretinoin only do - 1- cleanser, 2- Moisturizer, and 3- Tretinoine. In the morning, the same w/sunscreen. You don't need to use anything else on your face when using Tretinoin/Retin A. . This is the KING of acne and anti-aging products. Anything else you use is extra, and wouldn't compare to this Less is more when using Tretinoin. You don't need anything else. If you exfoliate and use active ingredients, you want to wait at least 2 weeks before you start using Tretinoin.

I'm around the 2 month mark and I think I'm starting to go through the purge. I'm a little discouraged, and looking for videos that can make me feel better. The first few weeks I totally had that "baby butt" and glowing sensation on my skin and I thought the process would be much smoother, but now I'm breaking out a little and the my acne scars seem darker than they even were even though I'm using sunscreen everyday. Guys make sure you get retin A , which is also called tretinoin or tretin-aldehyde = ( tretin A ). Retinol is also good but it takes longer to work due to it chemically having to be converted to retin- aldehyde, which is then converted into retinoic acid that the body uses in order for cellular turnover to take place. Did you do other things to keep the acne in check, or did you have to come off of your birth control???? What supplements did you use to get rid of the acne
@maarmont24784 жыл бұрын
Hello..Is it necessary to raise the percentage? I've been on 0.025 tretinoin for a month and a half.😘🇦🇷
@snowwhiteisfckndead3 жыл бұрын
NO continue to use the .025%, you want your skin to get used to it. In the end it does not matter what percentage you use, bc you're going to end up with the same results anyway, though it might take a little longer. The only difference is that a higher percentage of tretinoin is more irritating to the skin and it's not worth it tbh. Always consult with your derm first, don't make that decision yourself please it can be very dangerous

Retinoids like Tretinoin you need a doctors prescription. However, less potent retinols you can get over the counter. The only prescription strength retinoids available over the counter is Differen Gel, in the United States

I got mine on Monday! I got .05% and for me I feel like it doesn’t burn my skin. I feel like it’s because I would already use retinol every night before I decided to go in with something stronger, tretinoin. Right now I’m applying it after my moisturizer. How long do you recommend until I can apply it before my moisturizer?

A lot of people say apply after moisturizer .. so keep doing that. And don’t forget you sunscreen

What situations did you experience on your skin when it had been irritated? And how long they finished? I just used 10 days-5times but I wonder its work on my skin or not, because my skin became having itchy and 1-2 red acnes(not too big but it itchy and sometimes come out suddenly).

@italianelson49514 жыл бұрын
@ruby Muasaya You can but it causes you to purge a lot and may make matters worse. It does get better but it may take a long while depending on your skin type etc. If it’s just a few acne scars and dark spots you could try other options like aloe vera plant or gel, glycolic acid, vitamin C cream or Kligman’s cream. You can research which one would suit you best.

if your skins not to bad try alpha arbutin, lactic acid, mandelic acid etc these are more gentle and will get rid of the acne scars if your consistent

Hi Aiesha, thanks for the helpful video !!! I have a question, did you experience any discoloration or skin darkening ? Probably due to the sun...i have been applying tretinoin for 3 month and always put Spf, but the area around my month got darker ...and i am thinking about stopping tretinoin because of this...
@meeradevi29823 жыл бұрын
Omg I have that too!! Did you stop or did you continue using tretinoin?
@nirmalaanissa94393 жыл бұрын
@@meeradevi2982 Hi !! Honestly I kept going ...but at the beginning try to use like once a week untill you tolerate ...then increase the frequency little by little ! The hyperpigmentation is probably due to the fact that your skin is still not tolerating the tret and you get irritated from it. However, you should discuss this with your Dr. Sometimes they prescribe an additionnal cream to help with hyperpigmentation ( e.g. azelaic acid). Now i actually can tolerate tretinoin quite well, sometimes i get the occasional flakiness if I overdue it but otherwise i am quite happy with the results !...but really speak to your Dr...everyone's skin is different and you might need an little extra help ! Using tretinoin without the supervision if a derm is not recommended 🤗 good luck on your skin journey 😊

acclimate your skin first, so I suggest, you start with 2-3x/week. Then, you can gradually increase depending on the reaction of your skin.
