I want to address the comments asking if I've had Botox, fillers, etc. so people can have the truth. I've never gotten anything done to my face. I don't judge anybody if that's the route they choose, but I chose to use topical treatment because I want to be in control of my own face and, also, it's not desirable to me to inject my face with stuff. I like my face the way it is. As for my lack of facial expression, I'm still getting used to filming myself, so that's a part of it. And being an extreme introvert, coupled with my reserved nature, and the fact that in my day to day life I'm teaching meditation & yoga, as well as providing hospice care (these are my occupations), my face looks the way it looks. What I'm trying to say is that we wear our lives on our faces. Everyone does. And I've never been a bubbly, over-animated person, so it would come across extremely artificial if I faked a persona that isn't who I am. Additionally, tretinoin imparts a "pulling" (tightening/firming) effect on the skin, which, is both good and bad. Yes, it makes the complexion appear flawless, but there are definite downsides. I can't open my mouth too widely, or I start to peel immediately, for example. The skin, before it peels (mine peels every day), becomes very tight, and taut, and tightly pulled skin looks ultra smooth and shiny, and then it sort of "cracks" (mine does anyway), starts to flake, and then peels away. New fresh skin is then revealed. This is the mechanism of Retin-A. Ultimately, I take it as a compliment and a testament to the power of this product, if people simply "can't believe" I've achieved my skin with the use of topical cream alone. That people believe me or don't believe me doesn't change the truth, and beyond what I've said here, I can't do much else. It's not my concern to convince anyone of anything. But I did want to address this, since I see numerous comments asking, speculating, and accusing me of not being honest. I have no problem being clear and upfront. This is who I am. I must add, too, for those who have asked tactfully - thank you, by the way. Happy holidays everyone.

I’ve been using Retin A since I was 36 and I’m now 45. My skin SHOCKS me everyday. Post acne pigmentation fades very quickly when using Retin A. I had extreme peeling when I started. I dialed it back to a couple times a week and let my skin acclimate to it. Wearing makeup in the beginning is almost impossible because it makes the peeling look much worse. It is 100% worth the side affects. I don’t wear foundation at all anymore. My skin doesn’t need it. It’s SO liberating!! SO worth it.

Rashmi Rao absolutely. Not only while using but always. I love my sunscreen. It is the best moisturizer for my oily skin. It’s the tinted one by Paula”s Choice. It’s perfection! Gives just enough moisture but dries down to a lightly powdery finish.

U look great.. Now do you buffer before tetrinoin?
@christineshadya57414 жыл бұрын
Abner Shaqouille Azmi yes. My first step after cleansing is I tone with the Ordinary 7% Glycolic solution, then I buffer with The Ordinary 2%+B5 Hyaluronic Acid. Then I combine Steiva-A 0.5% ( pea sized amount ) in the palm of my hand with a drop of The Ordinary Niacinamide 10%+Zinc1% and a drop The Ordinary Buffet. It’s lengthy but it WORKS. I swear I won’t be changing this routine EVER.

I feel like more than your products, its the fact that you don't use foundation and heavy makeup that has made your skin this good. My mother had skin like yours and I couldn't ever find even one pore on her face! She never uses makeup, ever. Well, since I can remember anyway. For me, the adjustment period took a solid YEAR (just for the side effects to really subside to the degree where I saw a MAJOR overhaul difference in my complexion and, frankly, my overall skin type (changed from oily/combination to more normal, and no breakouts AT ALL, pretty much ever, after that time). Patience is the most important thing; and sun protection. It does address both discoloration and bumps. My skin today, currently, has no texture whatsoever (it's glass-smooth). Good luck! I'm excited for you.

Jenna Jones It will!! Just keep in mind that’s it’s a slow process, most people don’t start seeing texture changes until 1 month, pigmentation evening until 3-4 months, and wrinkle reduction until 6-12 months. It’s very slow, be consistent!! And please wear sunscreen, skin is more vulnerable to premature aging from the sun and also skin cancer from the sun when you’re using chemical exfoliants. Wear your sunscreen whether it’s sunny, cloudy, or rainy. Trust me on that one!! 😅

Wow. I am always amazed to hear people say that 0.05 caused their face to literally hurt, to peel crazy amounts, and to "hurt to move", I have NEVER experienced that with tretinoin .05.
