I'm nearly certain the "whatever it was" from the tent story is a mountain lion. Anytime you hear a blood-curdling scream in the woods that's not quite human sounding, it's safe to assume that's the culprit. We've got quite a few of them around where I live and if you're not used to it it can be nerve-rattling to put it lightly.
@alexielshadowangel Жыл бұрын
I was thinking that too. Cougars sound TERRIFYING when they scream! And they do climb trees, so that was probably the creaking. Honestly A LOT of wild animals make noises that most people don't know they can make. Cougars and barn owls can sound like straight up demons when they scream! Coyotes, lynx, and bobcat all makes some bizarre noises too.
@jaelmao22148 ай бұрын
foxes can also sound super crazy when screaming although a lot more people recognize the sound of foxes

@BrettShadow Жыл бұрын
@@BlueTickCH Oak Cliff is just south of downtown Dallas. To someone who isn't from there it would just de considered Dallas. DFW is a much larger area than most who haven't been there realize. To the downtowns, Dallas and Ft. Worth are about 35 miles apart. So as with all major and most of the minor metros, there are parts that are sketchy to downright NO GO zones. Having travelled the world and the country pretty extensively, Overall DFW is not near as dangerous or shady as many others in the country

David Koresh lived a couple cities away from me in California “Koresh spent much time in the last seven years in California, enticing young Hollywood musicians to “play for the Lord,” exercising his strict religious beliefs in San Bernardino and encamping with 18 wives in a two-story house in La Verne.” He was actually born Vernon Wayne Howell and had his name legally changed at the Pomona Courthouse. My friend and I were driving and he said “that’s where David Koresh lived.” I said “really 🤨 I thought he lived in Texas?” Turns out he was right. I was 19 and saw it on the news because that’s all my parents watched was news all.day.long. However, I got to see many things live, like the OJ white Bronco freeway chase and the LA riots of 1992 and a drive by shooting. Good times… 🤙🏻

Also, Porcupine facts - if you ever go hunting or camping in an area where porcupines exist, bring chicken wire to surround your car, Porcupines love eating the glue used in tired, they literally shredded 4 tires in a single night once when I was on a trip in upstate NY to a hunting cabin my family used to own, they can also climb ladders. I’ll always remember being like 10 and hearing a munching sound in the cabin living room and my grandfather rushing out the door with a shotgun saying “that god damn porcupine!” and we found it sitting at the top of a ladder we forgot to take down from against the cabin and it was eating the paneling at the roof line like 15ft up, it was crazy lol

My scary Texas story was when my flight got delayed 8 hours and then cancelled at midnight because of an unexpected thunderstorm. And then I had to drive to another airport to catch a flight earlier than the original airport could offer. And I had a layover in Utah. And I landed in an airport that was a 3 hour drive from my home city, not the one that was a half hour away. And I was not with my parents, I was with a teacher, two strangers, and an acquaintance. No one’s gone read all that, but I just wanted to complain. No grudge held against Texas, but I won’t be returning anytime soon.
