That last story is heartbreaking because Frank's friend was not a male, but a female octopus. The reason she wasn't interested in doing anything was she had laid eggs and was protecting them, she was sacrificing her life to make sure her babies hatched. This is what the females do, they won't move away or eat, they are on guard until those babies hatch which means they die so their babies live. Octopi are playful creatures and I am happy he met this special friend, hope someday he meets another one.💕💕💕

That story with the person and their father was deeply sad. I've lost a parent to sudden circumstances as well, and I still think about what I wish I could say to them. Not to be too "spiritualist" but there's a part of me that wonders, if angels exist, if that person's father actually saved their life that day.

It WAS his dad and his dad was there to save his life. That's why he came. They do that sometimes. Why some people and not others, I have no clue. I've heard numerous stories about people who were saved by departed relatives. Trust me, his dad knew EVERYTHING, too. Every word his son wanted to say, every regret. He knew. Unfortunately they likely weren't meant to meet again. Fredrick was most likely a she, because what's was described in the story looks a lot like the brooding behaviour of white spotted octopus(we have a lot of them off Europe's coasts, they also live on American East coast too), they change colour to red and then sit for multiple days covering the spot where their eggs are laid, refusing to eat/move/do anything else really until the eggs start to hatch, and then they move away to warmer waters so that they don't compete with their own babies for food/don't accidentally eat them

Can confirm that looking at those drops in the ocean floor is terrifying. Went snorkeling one time off a boat and I had to get out immediately. It unexplainable/ unimaginable and over all terrifying. It’s a very stark realization that we are so very small and fragile as human beings. Snorkeling was a soft try into diving ……but after that I knew I could never dive. It inspired fears I never had before. There was also a coral reef nearby and watching all the huge fish swim in and out without being able to see all of them…. Then realizing there could be anything hiding in there……. Ugh. I honestly panicked and begged to get back on the boat. The rest of the time me and 3 other people who freaked out watched everyone else and that was fun lol.

Had a school mate. who's dad was a Rescue Diver with the Fire Department in Copenhagen. One of their tasks is to clean the underwater statues. One day, the dad's dive buddy had gone down (only about 4 m deep) to clean the statues, when he suddently FLEW out of the water. When sitting on the pier, he muttered "There... there... there was a cyclist!!!" Well, it was too shallow for Nitrogen Narcosis so... WTF?!?!?! Turns out, an old man had tied himself to a heavy bicycle and drowned himself. The gasses inside him, had stood him up and the current had pushed him past the diver..

Diving is not just dangerous it's a necessary skill for the complex infrastructural maintenance required to run civilization. Again, these are all the most unsettling stories centered on a world as mysterious as the surface of distant planets except that this alien world is here, on earth!

Those stories were pretty scary to me as deep waters creep me out generally. Last story was sad, though, I think the creature was sick and/or dying at the end.

I watched a nature doc a while ago and when he said that the octopus had turned red and was refusing to eat is when I realized it was a female octopus who had laid her eggs and was at the end of life. I'm still here crying over a dying octopus, though.

37:00 I know exactly what that 'glow' was and yes, it happens to Navy warships as well as other ships and private boats all too often. Note, boat as opposed to ship? Boats are small and can be carried on ships. Submarines are often referred to as 'boats' but they are not boats as they cannot be carried on ships. For instance, while I served in the US Navy back in the 1970's, my ship carried several boats. One was a diver boat.

My brain and body has gotten so sloimed to the sound kf your voice i literally cant even play a game on my phone in the pitch black while listening 😂or i swear i have to replay the story. Its like my brain is programmed to lay down only when it hears your voice😂( which is a good thing or id stay up all night no matter how exhausted i am).😊

Frederick doesn't play. He said, "oh, you're gonna ignore me? Death for you! Haha jk." 😅😅 So freaking cute, best ending to the video. 💕 I hope he's okay, sounds like he was sick though, or maybe having babies. Frederick might be frederika.

Ah, the age old giant catfish story... There are two fairly large man made lakes in my neck of the woods. Both of them carry the same tale. The giant catfish, the sunken old town, the sub mechanic work being done either on dams or spillway. The catfish here however have been compared to being as large as a Volkswagen and or too big to fit in the bed of a full size pickup truck. An old one involving a local river was so large it stretched tip to tale the same size as the sunken train car it lived in. Never gets old. And never changes much lol.

As a PADI scuba Instructor I was gonna say you can’t have a divemaster train you only they can only assist and shadow the Instructor. But they did mention the 80’s so maybe divemasters could train then? 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂
