What if you could live indoors and outdoors at the same time? The visionary designers of these 4 homes set out to make everyday living an adventure by opening their doors to the world outside...
0:00 - Nonosi House in Costa Rica
Architect and homeowner Richard Hammond, along with his wife Daniela, transform two half-built structures that he discovered while running through the foothills of San José.
3:43 - Waldman Cabin in Santa Cruz, California
In search of a Bay Area retreat, Jeff Waldman and Molly Fiffer purchased a piece of land on which to experiment and gain new skills, one task at a time. They've made the Santa Cruz Mountains their home for less than $35K.
6:31 - Miguel Aragonés Home in Mexico City, Mexico
Mexico City designer, Miguel Angel Aragonés, finds the fullest expression of his style in designing his museum-like family home.
9:09 - Welcome to the Jungle House in Darlington, Sydney, Australia
'There has clearly never been a more important time in history for architecture to be sustainable and regenerative...' says Welcome to the Jungle House architect and builder, Clinton Cole. This self-sufficient home in Darlington, Sydney Australia contains its own ecosystem capable of growing fruit, vegetables, and even fish.

It's so tragic -- the Waldman cabin was razed to the ground by Santa Cruz's most recent wildfires. I loved this project; thank you for sharing Dwell.

Artitechs for homes and mansions should build outdoor areas such as grassy terrian. Sand if you're into the beach like how rockstar Lenny Kravitz did for his home or if you love winter with snow you could build on top of the roof area or inside your home

From my experience in Costa Rica, most houses are missing some exterior walls. And, many don't have any water heaters. Visually impressive, functionally common.

Very poor views of the homes themselves. Mostly focused on people talking about their homes, with some quick shots of the houses, that gave a very limited perspective of the place.

A piece of advice to Dwell: WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THE INHABITANTS OF A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE. They're stupid and boring. Show silent architecture.
@joshsoorlin579

I agree . we dont care about the architects who designed a house or what inspired them, obviously we know that architects can design houses its their job.
@maggotinc

I disagree. People that live there and designed it, are the reason that place is there. Though I agree with less people in scene and more beautiful pictures with voiceover would probably be a good thing.

@@maggotinc Do you want a life history of Johannes Vermeer in a video about "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" and its analysis?
@maggotinc
@maggotinc 3 жыл бұрын
@@evaisthisiaeclaire6365 if the reason why Vermeer painted this girl is intertwined with his life story it is not a question wether we want to hear it. It is a question of necessity. The (hi)story is part of the painting then.
