Majority of the time I use them for bait and wait. Just casted it out and left it out there. (Carolina rig). Always adding a garlic scent to it. They can also be slowly retrieved if you want to stay active.

Thanks for watching Donald. So far things are going good with the new baby addition. Hardest part is just adjusting to the lack of sleep that’s for sure. There were a couple occasions where I was going to go fishing but the baby kept me up all night so I had to change plans lol. Main reason I’ve been making these kinds of videos. Hopefully I’ll get back out there soon.

Thanks for checking in on us MV. Yeah we haven’t fished at all ever since the baby. Slowly adjusting to the new lifestyle, I’m hopeful we will be out there soon. I’ve tried to get out to the lake a few times but it just so happens the baby is super fussy that day and we end up getting no sleep. I hope you are getting those fish though! See you out there soon hopefully.

Hello loved this video. Please let me know what you think of my comment…..I like to use method 2 where you come from the tail side and come out a bit back from the head side keeping the protruding hook and hidden shank in the central part of the bait. Seems to allow a nice natural movement of the head, and tail sections only keeping the very center stiff from the length of the shank. I fished yesterday and caught 4 smaller sized rainbows that my wife and I had for dinner. Good times! Great bait!

@ExploreNaturesCatch
@ExploreNaturesCatch 2 жыл бұрын
I heard they are suppose to be stocking again within the week. I would make sure I have a good pair of polarized sunglasses on and check out every cove on the right side. They usually hang out in there, but start to move further away as the days go by after the stock. I usually try and stay pretty mobile at that lake and keep moving until I find them. All the times I’ve been there, they have been close to shore and I was able to see them with my sunglasses. Good luck out there. I will probably try and make it out there sometime after the next stock.

@ExploreNaturesCatch
@ExploreNaturesCatch 2 жыл бұрын
@@elgarza18 I would just literally cruise the whole shore line since you have a boat and throw mini jigs until you find them. A lot of times there’s a school of them just hanging out but the trick is to just find them. It’s hard to say where they would be at now since they had a lot of time to move. Plus I’m sure the stripers have been pushing them around. Good luck out there and let us know how it goes.

So far Ive done it the first method. But of all those methods, which one will have the least amount chance of the fish swallowing the mouse tail and those making it harder to get the hook out? What’s the difference between #1 and #3?
@ExploreNaturesCatch
@ExploreNaturesCatch 2 жыл бұрын
That's hard to say, i noticed that the smaller fish will always tend to get lip hooked the way we always set it up. Even on our recent trip (last week) every smaller trout was lip hooked. The bigger fish most often swallowed the whole mice tail. It looks like the addicted fishing style people use a larger hook so its able to go from the ball head to the tail instead of just the ball head. The first method is a popular way to hook it from what i've seen.

What length do you normally have your leader at?
@ExploreNaturesCatch
@ExploreNaturesCatch 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the lake but majority of the time I have it around 1 1/2ft - 2ft . I have gone shorter before for some of the regional parks in my area because its really shallow and sometimes the fish like to cruise right next to shore.
