It doesn’t sound ridiculous at all. Some people just start hobbies later. I’m sure someone on this thread caught their first fish at an even “older” age.

I am 44, and I had only caught 2 fish in my life (when I was about 5 years old). Then I got back into it a month or two ago. I've caught nearly 30 fish in the past 4 weeks, and a lot of it was because of these Addicted Fishing videos! Tight lines, my friend. This has been such a fun hobby.

After watching many of your videos, I think this is the first I’ve seen where you added weight to a spinner setup. Glad to see it! I do that all the time when fishing them in lakes and rivers, trout, salmon, steelhead, etc. I use a snap swivel and pencil lead with the snap end toward the mainline to allow the barrel to spin freely with the leader. Works pretty well from my experience!

Can you put a snap swivel at the end of your leader for easy quick change of various spinners or would it throw off the action of the spinner, having a snap swivel there??
@Chriscola93 жыл бұрын
I've found the snap swivel works just fine with the spinners and spoons. I always worry it will throw off the presentation to the fish but recently I've had no issue catching.

I often use a clip instead of a swivel at the end of my leader. Especially while trolling. Works well for me unless the water is super clear and the fish are spooky (i.e. in some of the higher mountain lakes out here in the beautiful PNW.)

I was using a barrel swivel with a clasp right at the spinner for quick change? Not a nibble two days straight. Do you think it being hooked right to the lure like that works?
@KevinRapkochFishing2 жыл бұрын
It definitely works. I do it both ways (connected to swivel, and connected right to line). Not much difference in hookups. As long as you are keeping the spinner moving, the swivel just flashes similarly to the flash of a fish. Just make the swivel as small as needed.

I've never found them to be too spooky but they're just like any other trout/salmon, they can be spooked. Dont cast right on top of them and make light drops with your casts. Also dont wanna spook them with your line so I typically keep most of mine out of the water until I need to fish deeper.
