also "all keys sound different" YES thank you there was this giant argument on twitter a while ago because someone said "keys aren't different that's just perfect pitch elitists" or something lmao no there's a reason composers chose certain keys granted, a lot of the time it was because the key was easier to play on an instrument but technically that's still a reason xD

You're welcome😂 but I think if you think about it like, these are different frequencies, of course they must be different, there is no way two frequencies are the same thing

Schuberts most wonderful impromptu is written in the key of Gb major (which is equivalent to F# major - frequencies remain the same) His publisher suggested that the piece should be published in the key of G major, for increased legibility (Gb = 6 flats, G = 2 sharps) Needless to say, Schubert aptly disaproved of this proposition - the impromptu just doesnt have the right mood when in G for me

everybody knows the first one though.... Also❗keys are not different! they _used to be_ different back when they tuned pianos in just intonation or similar tunnings. If you want the keys on your piano to sound different then you need to ask your piano tuner to give you a different more 'just' tuning. Otherwise it is a myth. ps: the middle two tips where cool

Thanks💪🏻 I still disagree, every note has a differnet frequency, thus every key must sound different, because F and A already are different, the strucutre is exactly the same, I agree with that, but F sharp major sound different then A major🙌🏻

@@Carl-FriedrichWelker You're not wrong.... I guess my question is why does it matter if we can't really tell the difference (minus people with perfect pitch)?
@Marunius6 ай бұрын
I guess we can tell a difference from a certain interval, if you lower a piece by e.g. a major third or more, you can realise without perfect pitch.
