Gorgeous, my husband keeps all of his saw dust in a cheap plastic container with a lid, then when he needs a wood filler he mixes some with wood glue in a little cup until he likes the consistency and uses it in his wood pieces. You can't even tell it wasn't originally a part of the piece. He used to repair furniture pieces.

Another way for the shell is take a few buttons hot glue them to the back of the shell to make it more 3 d looking

I love the shell 😢art piece and water scene paint but Corrie go get yourself a little tub of wood filler. It’s basically glue and sawdust and fills cracks and holes and is sand able and paintable. I think you should repaint the rooster. There is a Portuguese rooster that is apparently pretty famous and is very folksy and I think would be fairly easy to do.

The shell is very pretty but I’m gonna have to steal your water scene 😂. I love how beautiful it is but oh so easy . The top piece is comb and my brain is thinking waddle ( like a turkey). I’m going to be rude, the red doesn’t work on the rooster,I’m sorry. The gray n white was fine but I’d think of the direction of the brush strokes to correlate with feather directions. I’m an old crafter 😂 but you do what pleases you😅. 😊❤

These are all really good diys. I'm not understanding what you were saying to do with the stencil to get less bleeding. Can you explain it for me pretty, please?😊

Hi' Teri!! Sure! When you're ready to stencil something, if you use the same color as your base color first, if you get any bleeding, it won't be visible, because it's the same color. That essentially creates a barrier with your stencil, so then you can go over it with the color you want your stencil to be and you won't get any bleeds. You could also use mod podfe first instead of your base color, but I usually only do that if I have a raw wood color, or if I'm going to go over the whole piece with mod podge afterwards, because it can otherwise create a bit of a sheen around your stencil area where it bled. I hope that helps! 🥰
