@@AllanFrance Bittern a double cherry on the cake. Would have been really easy to mistake it for one of the many hares. Just lucky I checked with my camera. I couldn’t tell with my naked eye.

Great video Justin...nice to bump into you on a great Wednesday . Huge respect to the Elmley farm family and the reserve team and volunteers. The work they have done is paying huge dividends . Just shows what can be done on a big scale (like Knepp ) . If that means a bit tougher to get access sometimes it's a small price to pay I think. Amazing Bittern footage btw

@@nigelmorley8092 Hey. Just looked at your channel. You were crushing viewing figures I can only dream of. Should definitely get back to it. Bittern was a touch, but was hard work. Could only angle it by leaning over my window to film dead ahead, and focus manually because the reeds were interfering with auto focus. Still my best day.

@@stormcabbirds Thx it was fun (if frustrating sometimes) doing so still may resurrect it !! Good luck with your channel too. Sure we'll bump into each other as I'm Kent as well

Thanks for sharing. If you hadn't been filming the Bittern, wish I'd stopped, I would have said hello. As usual a great video. I only managed to see the Long & Short eared owls, but was rewarded with a quick glimpse of the Bearded Reedling.

Liking your new intro along with the birdsong (and no need for music) You were very animated and looked like you were enjoying your birding session at Elmley. One of those days when you return home proper made up with your tail wagging. Congrats on the owl count and those owl images were very nice indeed. I can understand why elmley is a popular location and at times can get a little on the busy side. One of the downsides of social media i suspect. Is elmley more busy with bird watching / spotting as apposed to photographers? Wish elmley was one of my local reserves. Im down south devon and the nearest similar reserve for me being the somerset levels (recomended if your ever passing that way) All the best.

@@paulgorrin5001 I’m sure my many vlogs don’t help the situation. I’m half expecting to be asked to stop doing them 😂. They are in a real funk about how to handle the problem. Shuttle buses are being discussed. Maybe it’ll need to come down to people booking slots in advance. Pretty much everyone who goes has a camera.

@@stormcabbirds I have not yet had the pleasure of visiting elmley. I first came across elmley while googling (places to stay on nature reserves) then Mike Lane FRPS excellent youtube vlogs. Being able to bird watch and photograph up close from the comfort of your vehicle must be a big attraction especially for folk not able to do long walks etc.
