These songs remind me of when I was a kid growing up in the native american chruch, I was once told that you dont need to be sitting in front of the fire to listen to these songs, and when you do listen to this songs and you get that amazing feeling of an up lifting and you cry. ..that is the holy spirit looking upon you.

I was invited to a NAC ceremony. I sat up all night by that fire eating that medicine and I walked out the next day completely changed. I experienced a lot of trauma as my life began purging bad habits and people. I fought it not knowing. I felt alone lost and confused. I felt an urge to head into the woods for a few days and listening to that drum and gourd and these beautiful songs by myself. It really connected me all over again. This was recently. I have no words to be able to sing with it but I feel all of it and I am so thankful for all of this world and this life. 🙏

A new friend, who is from Chinle, Arizona, shared this with me. Such beautiful harmony and fascinating rhythm. I'm just a simple White girl, who trained in a school for Opera singers and Broadway performers. I absolutely love learning about the music of different cultures. I'm always so impressed by the endless variety of interesting rhythms, harmonies and vocal techniques developed by each culture. It's such a joy and blessing to be introduced to someone else's musical contributions.

I remember being in a peyote meeting with my family. When I was experiencing Peyote I seen a tiny bird come out the fire and go back into flame. I still remember that feeling of the full blue moon hurting my eyes. Never again will I see that same feeling. I was 9 years old, this happened in Red Rock Canyon. New Mexico

As the son of a Road Man, I gotta say........ "I never seen my dad so frickin cool! Lol, he was already the Man, for putting up with my mom and keeping his composure. His occupation- he teaches our Native language as a side job. But Running Peyote meetings is his calling and true passion. In life..... He's 5'3" but in that teepee, doing his thing;..... He's a Religious Giant! People fly him to Hawaii for these, old Mexico, clear up to Kamloops, Canada. By the time I was 13 or 14, I was being praised as the prodigal son. To this day idk if they were yanking my chain, or really saying something. But anyhow, I still know a few songs, I can still drum for that lady who didn't have a husband, son or brother present. But I told him one day, I had to quit. He asked why, and my reply went something like this: "Dad,....... There's enough people being looked after in the Light, someone has to keep an eye on the ones in the dark." Basically telling him I respect the Peyote way too much to continue my using and abusing of alcohol & grass, while still attending our church. I have no regrets my friends. I took the path chosen for me, saved a few good friends from overdose, and attempted suicide, and as they say, bartenders are unlicensed therapists. Now that I'm about to choose the Red road, I just pray I left enough of my tainted soul to be deemed worthy by my father, others, and myself." Lem-lempt, Aho! All my relations

Native Americans are the reason for me to ever wanting to visit this continent. I wanted to learn more about the culture and the nowadays life of these nations. I was devastated to have learned the truth about how the white man tried to break these wonderful, pride people because in Europe the books only speak of Native Americans’ heroism, strength, brevity, love. You are the heroes and I love and respect your culture forever. Greetings from Bulgaria.

@@szz22 It was the masons that pushed genocide across these lands. They knew of a land that was blessed by God and his true children existed here in peace. The natives fought the mound building race (giants) to eliminate the dark spirits prior to white settlements. Its true, the Smithsonian (masonic) would purchase skeletal evidence and destroy or discredit the findings. They suppressed the natives and attempted to mix their dark natured spirit with the light spirit of these chosen people. The masons hold everyone down with oppressive symbology even today. These are the chains holding American people from finding the true light rather than pushing to feed on the spirit of their privileged class system. We kept the world safe, warmed her heart and now she's matured to protect her existence on a higher level. She's stronger than ever and the cleansing is coming.

sitting here reading all the positive comments that this music and medicine brings into our sometimes dreadful lives. The medicine helps us bring forth the beautiful music and prayers Louie sings about for our children. Numerous posts want translations to these beautiful songs. Translating them would would take pages, as they are prayer songs. All four set of songs deal with all the beautiful and wonderful things this fireplace has to offer our children, asking the medicine to bless our children with all the wonderful things this world has to offer, for our to lead a beautiful life. I know my post doesn't justice for these songs but hopefully will help others with a little better understanding. Here's to all our beautiful and wonderful children.

I just went through a psilocybin ceremony. I have had sociopathic/psycopathic tendacies all my life. I literally hated people. But this sacred medicine healed me. Now I have nothing but love in my heart for eveyone and eveything. When the ancestral spirits/Gods took me to the darkest parts of my mind, the medicine man played his drum and sang these ancient songs. He stayed with me, his spirit was a beacon of light, which anchored my soul to the physical existence. I am forever grateful for his presence, he is truely my brother.

I lived in southern Mexico for 24 years and 2 friends and myself always took an April or May pilgrimage to Wirikuta in San Luis Potosi to come together with the Great Spirit and watch the Huicholes dance and sing through the night if they were there also!! I am a native Arizonan and have grown up knowing people from many native Nations. I was adopted by a family who were part Cherokee, my grandfather was half. I was raised to respect the ways of all of the different nations, and the songs bring me to a place of peace. I send many prayers to the Navajo people, and all people during this time as this horrible illness has struck them so hard.

I've been listening to this song almost every day for 2 years. I had a great great grandma who was Navajo she had many amazing traditions I was told but my family did not really hang on to them I guess. I would love to learn the language and traditions but you can only find so much online. Some people would say I am a cultural robber and I guess I am but it's just a happy feeling learning about Navajo people and hearing the music. Anyways LOTS of Respect to the Native people you guys figured out how to live in harmony with Nature!!!☀️♥️🌷🌿🌧️🍄🌼👍🏼

Hi Regina, It is important to detach the memory from the song. Very powerful songs and the memory of your father is all you have now. Chose now to see it in a new way. He tried his best and did the most with what he knew. My father too abused my mother and we need to forgive and let it go. Find inner peace within yourself and through these beautiful songs. We are all doing our best at different pace. much love to all, Belinda

I'm 18 and I enlisted to the marines and currently going on my 6th month, growing up I always wanted to be a marine since I was 4 years old, when I was out at bootcamp one thing I missed was music, another crazy thing is how people from all over the country were there and I was the only Diné person there and all the things I've lived with all my life that I'm so use to was amazing to everyone else. There was times I wanted to give up, for once I actually missed home, I got into this stuff a few times here and there, but once I went somewhere that ik I'm not home, I actually was being more proud to be native, and I suddenly wanted the urge to listen to pow wow and peyote songs, even praying whenever I was hiking painfully and seeing the actual sunrise whole hiking along side the beach, seeing the view and praying in my native ways made me feel amazing, I proud to be who I am, and im glad I grew up.with these, and finally being able to want to learn and carry on these traditions

Beautiful song, it is felt in the soul that comes from a very spiritual world and that is understood living its true origin. I descend from the Chancas and Pocras that lived in the ancient Peru South of America and here also there are beautiful dances that express the feelings of each community. Fraternal greetings brothers descendants of the true born of North America. These songs even cure illnesses and disorders that the science of the white man does not understand.QUE HERMOSA CANCION , MUY BELLA....SALUDOS DESDE PERÚ.ATENTAMENTE ALEJANDRO GARCÍA.

My yazh, a beautiful man with a kind soul and knowledgeable voice, took himself out of this world, I listen to these because I miss him so much. I wish he spoke out, he was a healer but he couldn't heal himself. These make me feel so close to him, why do I see him sitting in a circle with everyone else. Suicide is real among our reservations, you never know who's hurting, please check on those who heal, you honestly never know whose hurting.
