You mention about naming conventions here, but it should probably be pointed out (even to newbies) that the variable "fullName" is named using the convention known as camel case. It is unimportant generally, but once users get more used to coding they'll be doing lots of research into what they know and need to know and knowing this fact (preferably remembering the reference to camel case) will definitely help them in the long run. Googling "variable naming conventions" (maybe adding PHP at the end if you want) should give people an idea of the types of conventions out there...camel case appears to be the preference for PHP, but if you're coding for yourself or for fun it isn't necessarily important what convention you use as long as you follow PHP variable guidelines (variables can start with _ or a letter, can contain letters, numbers and the underscore _, and shouldn't be reserved words that are used in PHP...and obviously always start with $)
@fissionchips223 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for introducing me to the "camel case" terminology - this helped me quite a bit! It's humps in the middle like a dromedary and that's all you need to know to remember this! Very cool share and much appreciated!

Notepad and Notepad++ are some of the worst code editors out there, so while you CAN use them... It is not recommended. 🙂 I would go with VSCode.

I see that you are mentioning html a lot. So, do I have to learn html first?
@Dani_Krossing Жыл бұрын
Most PHP features involve posting data to a website, or retrieving data from a website. So if you don’t know HTML, then you will struggle with PHP in some areas. 🙂 It’s funny because I never understood why people ask “if they need to know HTML”, when learning PHP… Since PHP isn’t something you “just pick up”, unless you have already gone through learning the basics of web development first. Like HTML, CSS, and in some cases JavaScript. It’s like asking: “do I need to learn about food, to learn to be a chef?”.
@infonion Жыл бұрын
@@Dani_Krossing Ok. I understand. Thanks for the response. I'll be checking out your other videos on html first.
@Dani_Krossing Жыл бұрын
Maybe you can enlighten me on why you decided to learn PHP? 🙂 I’m honestly curious to what makes people wanna learn it, when they haven’t learned the basics of web dev first. Because usually people learn HTML and CSS, and then someone tells them that PHP, or JavaScript is the next step from there. PHP isn’t a language people usually learn on its own out of the blue. 🙂

@@Dani_Krossing I have a wordpress site, and I want to customise it myself. I found that it requires PHP, so here I am.
