This had the smell of a PR episode, with a check for MFM. Sanchez has analyst experience, but her ventures are doubtful. Especially, since an analyst would know their numbers and margins down-pat. Doubling down, she sells access to her “knowledge”, which all the more would emphasize that she has to be in command of her numbers. This episode offers some serious questions and concerns, Shaan.

Man her numbers on the laundromat business were pretty fuzzy. It's as if she doesn't actually know what the numbers are for that type of business. She doesn't know hard numbers, she only knows simple estimations based on what seems realistic. First she says the average revenue is $100k with 15-20% margins ($15k to $20k profit). Then she compared it to short-term rentals and bumped up the numbers to $20k - 40k a year just to make it seem better. No actual hard numbers on her other deals either. Selling a course on buying a business without being able to provide actual numbers from past deals is crazy to me. Or maybe that's exactly what's inside her course i dont know

I love this interview with Codie! Her message is simple, inspiring and consistent. That message is, small business ownership is the backbone of the US and the more ownership regular people have in small local businesses the more security they have and the stronger the social and community fabric we have as a country. Love this interview!

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly

This sums up why people have a hard time with Codie, she says stuff like "I love laundromats businesses for teachers that want to earn a little more over the summer". Teaches who make 40-50K and can barely make ends meet, right. When did Codie buy her first laundromat? Well, it was when she was a millionaire working at a steady job for an investment bank. Ohhhhh same same

That's a losing mindset. Where there is a will, there is a way. For example, you could start tutoring on the side to raise the funds. Also note that she worked 70hr weeks at the investment firm to get there, it was hardly a walk in the park.

Her ability to not have any concrete information on anything she shared here is concerning. Shaan, the words you are searching for at 1:18:00 is Circle of Influence versus Circle of Concern. 99% of people concern themselves with things that they have little to no influence over (national level politics being a perfect example). This generally just leads to people yelling into echo chambers at best, or at nobody at all in most instances, as they focus their energy on things beyond their control. What you knew intuitively (congrats) is that the more effective way to navigate life is to limit what you are concerned about to what you have influence over, then focus on growing that influence. You do this exactly as you say, by focusing on the things in your life and growing yourself, then naturally find your influence has expanded to fit. There are no new ideas of course, and this framework comes from Steven Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (as Sam probably could have told you).

I buy jarred candles or other fancy jars, make custom labels and lids and buy pawnbroker pledge liquidation jewellery, diamonds and gemstones or fold up a banknote or love letters and put them in the hot wax. The win rate is way higher, the jewellery fits, its stuff she wants and she likes that I always have the next 1 ready.

Note: H1B visa is not an immigrant visa. Holders of them are technically not immigrants. Just a little knowledge bomb for you
@u2b837 ай бұрын
Many H-1B visa holders do pursue paths to permanent residency and citizenship, transitioning from non-immigrant to immigrant status over time. The H-1B visa is indeed a non-immigrant visa, which allows U.S. employers to employ foreign workers for a certain period, typically three years, extendable to six years.
@StalkedByLosers7 ай бұрын
@u2b83 yes but it only allows them to be sponsored for a greencard application via their work. In that sense, the visa is "dual intent". But, in any other way, they are not allowed to act as an immigrant. For example, Mr. A arrives in the US for the first time on their non-immigrant work visa. Customs asks "what's your purpose" and Mr. A says something an immigrant would say like "I'm moving here now, I got a job at Google and my cousin works there too and I'm so happy and can't wait to start a new life here in USA. I'm an American now. America rah rah rah" What would happen? ✋️ 🫸 ✋️ 🫸 🫷 stop nope, customs would say. They would then revoke their visa, turn them around and send them back to their country. They are not allowed to act as an immigrant. Not even allowed to say they have the intention to get a greencard. They can only apply for it through their work once they are on assignment on US soil as it's a grey area for that.

I am not a fan of hers. If you have an angle that is making you rich, don't tell anyone. Especially her. Some gigs require you to get as much exposure or people as possible but a lot of businesses don't. Hustling in silence can be your friend. Once you tell her how your business is making money and she puts it on KZbin, the sharks can smell blood in the water. Meaning other rich people are going to cut into your action.
