I like the combination of CS and bootcamp tho. I did it in that way ( First attended a bootcamp, then studied CS at a Uni while working as a dev but would say the other way around could be better ) and it gave me the knowledge to write clean low level software. Also in a bootcamp you just can't learn about multithreading, architecture, networking and so on but it gave me some foundation to work with. If you stop studying after the camp you will fail for sure or just be a bad/average engineer after some years. In the end we are all kind of "self-taught" so the biggest drive to be successful is still motivation in my opinion.

Absolutely phenomenal video. I wish I had seen this before I went to General Assembly’s Coding bootcamp. It was great and the people were great, but I feel like my knowledge is not very grounded and kind of all over the place. I’m not very good at programming after that bootcamp. I still code everyday and am trying to work very hard to get better and better, but I find myself stuck and not moving forward. I have the hardest time taking simple examples and scaling them up and understanding the logic. But I’m in 100%, and never going to quit, but I should have done more research before I jumped into a bootcamp.

Keep it up my dude! You've basically tried to condense years into months. It'll probably take many more months before you start to feel comfortable, but it'll still be years faster than the traditional route.

Im currently doing a coding boot camp in Australia now, and it is one of the worst experiences I've ever been through.

What about you, wertiadreams... are you a "random AI bot deep fake"? My magic 8-ball says, "Signs point to yes".

To be a software engineer after 12 weeks is an insult to software engineering degree holders like myself. It is calling yourself a doctor after 12 weeks of medical school. To be call yourself a software engineer after 12 weeks is a complete joke.

Very interesting, seems a bit like these success coaches. Except they are why more scummy.
