It's a line that never finished. It was supposed to go from Sheppard West Station to Scarborough Town Center. Also they are not going to ever shut it down b/c it is cheaper to just run it than to have buses. It's also faster and convenient for people.

They wouldn’t shut down the Shepard line it is their newest and it gives service to lots of places such as north York general hospital and Fairview mall. They should extend it and have it terminate at Shepard West imo.

ummmm if this line is so under used why are the newer trains on this line. Shouldn't these trains be on the kipling-kennedy line and the old trains on that line be on sheppard?

Since Line 4 trains need to go onto Line 1 (which will be ATC soon) for maintenance at Davisville Yard, only the TRs work with ATC. The T1s which were. used on this line previously do not support ATC.

The trains are stored at Sheppard-Yonge during night hours. They can access Davisville Yard via connecting tracks to Line 1 if maintenance is needed.

@@aaronrh_ It actually isn't. It's just a very short line (under 6 km); it's just relatively less than Yonge line. If this line existed anywhere else, it would be consider well used.

@@QuarioQuario54321 Except it didn't, and any growth that does exist is minimal at best. If you want to see what actual growth looks like, look at the areas around where TYSSE was built. Unlike the Sheppard Subway, the areas around TYSSE are experiencing a significant boost in terms of development, and the answer for that is simply because Line 1 is an established important subway line. Sheppard simply doesn't go anywhere which makes it unattractive for would-be developers of the area.
