When my grandma was in her teens she went into her father's closet because she was looking for some records, she found a bunch of stuff that she now knows today as evidence that he was in the Free Mason society. After he passed her brothers went through his things and she was able to see all of it in a better light that he was indeed a free mason and her father had tried introduced her brothers into it as well. She was actually never suppose to see it due to the society not allowing women into it.
