the mental strain you feel while doing something is the trigger for neuroplastic change - yes!! This is such a great description of how neuroplasticity works (starts around the 38/40 minute mark)

Great content! I summarize this long conversation as 1) dopamine, 2) serotonin, 3) gratitude. Thinking back, I have been unconsciously doing these all my life. I am feeling so lucky.

So illuminating! Gotta take notes. I'll start w/ writing a single sentence then congratulating myself! Huberman's tightly organized YT neuroscience 'lectures' open up a world that I, at 80, wouldn't learn otherwise. Conversation provides an entirely different format for Huberman to educate.

Thank you lewis from all of us in Australia. I follow the hubermanlab and you have summarised his latest work very well here making it easier to introduce Andrews ideas to others. You do this with all of the people you interview and I follow many of the guests you have had on your show either before you have had them on or since seeing them on your show. The world is a better place for people like you mate so thank you.

Great talk and I learned a lot. I am surprised he didn't mention "observer mode" wherein you are not consumed and strongly identified with a line of thinking, but nor are you fighting it / pushing it away / struggling with it. It's like riding a wave, then the state abates and is gone. I have found it quite powerful. By not putting one's faith into the thought / feeling bundle and regarding it in a non-judgmental way, it loses potency over time.

And recognizing CONSCIOUSLY AWARE... I AM not the "fixed" behaviour pattern. And I can deliberately Choose another State at anytime I Choose to. Therefore I'm not the victim of circumstances, but the Conscious Awareness I Am manifesting everything into my Experience. Therefore as the Creator.. I'm no longer my past controlled Self, addicted to any old behaviour. When coming from this level of Awareness.. it's easy to let go of past-held Beliefs, & update them.. anytime I Consciously Choose to do so... (it's just centering my-Self in this Present NEW-NOW...) NOW-NOW-NOW... as I perceive my-Self to be, do, & have. At first it takes Conscious PRESENCE, & Awareness of what's happening... & then Choosing the self-realized state as done, & feeling it's Reality. This process is what works for me... it's basically, the more Conscious we are, the more we Create Conscious of our PRESENCE. (versus unconscious creating of the same past, brought forward) We step out of the dream, recognizing we are the dreamer... in our dream, creating everything more Consciously, & unlimitedly 💖

I understand what you are saying about the interview technique but to Lewis's credit he did bring Huberman on his show and did afford him the opportunity to express some great ideas. Huberman deals well with Lewis's style and controls his responses effectively. It may take some time and experience to develop great interviewing skills and Lewis does exhibit great enthusiasm and has a significant following. I think this is a case where as Huberman points out we should practice gratitude.

And sometimes the depression, feels comfortable! If you're so used to being in that state, all the time walking out of that state, or getting out of that state, is uncomfortable and out of your comfort zone! So sometimes it's easier for people who are depressed just stay there because it's easier than being out of that state!

Good class, the one think I did like was and that I do live and put into practice that really works is when you guys were speaking about putting into practice by using gratitude to the brain; a lil "secret" of a practice that I learned to process is embracing every negative struggle and receiving this in as fuel for day day fulfillments for my life; I then attach what Andrew Huberman mentioned on Dopamine to day day processes to get my fulfillments for life. Thank you guys for this class all confirmation.
