How much pressure do you have to put on the bow holding it that high up? Do you find it bounces around a bit?

Hi Liz! Thanks so much! Since most tunes are A-A-B-B, on the second part A or second part B do you ever change the bowing to change the feel of the repeated part?

Nice, Liz. When you’re not thinking about which bowing patterns to use, how do you make up your mind? 🤔

I'm really enjoying the videos., thanks for posting them. Question: I notice you hold the bow quite a way up from the end, without your fingers touching the frog at all. Did you develop this style on your own, and would you recommend that a beginner, (such as myself) find their own way to hold the bow that works for them? Thanks again!

One thing I'm curious about: your bow hold looks to be 'higher' (by a couple of inches) than say a classical hold (where the thumb kind of hooks in near the frog.) This obviously works well for you since you have such a relaxed easy style of playing - is it something you would recommend? Are there any disadvantages to it?

Rules to live by, or not... Thanks for clearing this up. Coming from mandolin where nothing is slurred I was wondering if I was doing it "wrong". I tend to use slurs because my left hand is faster than my bow and it gives me an opportunity to play a little faster. The way I look at it is one day my bowing will catch up.
