Thanks for posting Mikko. Untill now , I anchored a multiple string ring knot in a braid to secure it, and as a foundation for button. When I wanted that foundation to have a little more substance I would glue leather around it. This method however with the extra walling and crowning seems to do just that and I'll have to try it soon

It is always fun to learn new tricks. I find that using veg tan leather for the button you can work a very smooth foundation for rawhide covering. Let us know how it works for you.

Remains me at a stopper knot with four strands, the Rose knot. This Rose knot also begins with a crown, a wall and another crown.

Yes, combining wall and crown has many possibilities. For me a Rose knot is any stopper knot doubled with single crown.
