Out Son started shaking his head side to side ever since he was able to sit upright without assistance. It became a way for him to greet others when he sees them for the first time. We've celebrated his first birthday last week, These days he uses the head shake to let us know when he is tired and wants to sleep.

I just read this in a British article, "Landau Reflex is a secondary reflex that appears around the fourth month of the baby’s life and whose absence may be an indicator of motor weakness or a slower mental development." Why would they say that is it because they're leaving after something else goes along with it?

1st week home with our newborn, she burped up through both her nose and mouth while laying on her back. As she continued sputtering and choking and crying, I calmly lifted her out, rolled her face down, and started wiping her face before burping her some more. My wife was shocked at how calm I was. 8 years lifeguarding! If they're coughing or crying, they're still fine.

Have you tried modeling the proper way to use the toys? You can also teach gentle vs. rough playing and provide positive reinforcement when they play gently. Also, when you hand them a toy don’t say “don’t throw it.” Just hearing the word “throw” might make them want to throw it. Instead give them a command that matches what you want them to do like “hug the bear”, “drive the truck”, “ bounce the ball.”

Hello, We have a 9 month old baby and he is a delight really. He got crawling on all 4 like 1 month ago (he was doing an army crawl since 6th month to end of 7th), he likes climbing on furniture and pulling up, althought he can't stand for long. He is also very social and reacts to people nicely and likes the play. But he is not babbling AT ALL. He is just making cooing sounds like "aah, khm, bah, ee, ouu" and simmilar and that not very often. He gives high 5s, but doesn't point or clap yet. And yes sometimes he gets scared of sudden noises or ppl yelling and cries. Is this something we should be worried about or I'm just paranoid?

What about toddlers and shyness/social anxiety? My 2 year old daughter is very talkative and playful at home with us and at the park with her aunts and cousin. However she will point her head down, avoid eye contact, get very quiet, and stiffen her body when interacting with strangers or family members she doesn't see very regularly. Also if someone who she isn't comfortable picks her up or holds her hand without permission will make her cry and call for mom or dad I'm worried about her going to school in the future because it seems she will have a lot of anxiety. For example she is in swim classes and is fine with her teacher and classmates But she cries at the front desk workers and substitute teachers

Common sense , she’ll be fine. Look up videos of parenting styles , it will help you not become an overbearing parent - before it’s too late.
@92spice189 ай бұрын
Ignore the disrespectful idiots. Your concern is valid. Social skills are very important, and as we can see from some comments, some people have poor social skills. First, figure out if it’s just normal shyness or true anxiety. Try to find books about meeting new people and read them together. You can also prepare her for meeting new people and family members. Before they come over let her know who’s coming. Show her pictures of the person she will meet and praise her for little things like waving or saying hello. You can even do this with FaceTime, but make sure you prep her for the encounter first. Give her space to just take her time, and warm up to new people, she may just be an introvert which is perfectly fine. It may take a while so don’t get frustrated.

I thought my baby is having seizure at 5 months old so we went to the hospital and admitted overnight. She had head ultrasound, ECG and electrolytes all were normal result. Referred to neurologist from children’s hospital and said it is self stimulating events. Is there anyone here who’s baby diagnose as mine???Is it normal and will just go away????until when it’s gonna last?I am worried it is associated with austism/ADHD. Thanks.

Hello Emma, My boy is 11months old, and from 7th we have noticed this hand and feet twirling which sometimes comes with facial reaction as well (like cramp/spasm). It seems to us that he is doing that when he is happy/excited which also include feeding or some special song which he like on youtube for example. Sometimes this happens few times per day, and sometimes a lot...much more often. Since he is 11months old and occures with different intensity, should we be worried? Please let us know, we are really worried. Thank you in advance. Regards, Monika

My baby does this too! Really just when he's eating but it scared me the first time I saw it recently (he just turned 10 months the other day). Bc almost like a spasm like you mentioned. Where he clenched his fists or hand what appears to be tight for a little one but I def noticed he seems very excited at the time and is smiling and leaning in for more food. Would love to hear what you have to say as well. I worry (FTM worries❤️)

Hi! If your little one does have developmental delays it is best to work with the allied health professional who specialises in that area to give you tailored advice and help address these delays.

My baby flaps her arms like she is an airplane when she is upset, impatient or wants something. Is this normal? It's not hand flapping but more arm flapping.

My baby just rolls. Pediatrician concerned he is not crawling yet, but he doesnt even sit yet bu himself
@maryanacamarena74228 ай бұрын
My baby did this for a couple of months, he figured he could get around by just rolling!!! He was sitting on his own when we would place him down, but couldn’t figure out to go from tummy to sitting. Don’t worry, he is now army crawling with “normal” crawling in between. Im sure your little one will get it :) I would recommend watching some videos to help him/her to getting into sitting position. Babies are funny and love to scare us, one day they just wake up and master that new skill on their own
