For me swing trading starts with identifying the his and lows…pure price action…i then employ my strategy after…. So after price makes a higher/lower high… i then take buy and sell signals after and confirm with price volume indicator….

To each their own but at 9:23 when you showed them, the crossing of the lines would have gotten you into a long trade at the same spot without having to waste your time or deal with the uncertainty of looking for silly divergences.

Letting recency bias dictate strategy.....will never be a good strategy. Buying a cross would have also had you buying the top of the move on the left side of the chart. Quantitative work shows no edge in simply buying and selling crosses. If you have data covering years of chart moves that shows otherwise, I would love to see it. 👍

Yes. If using the MACD, make sure to use the SMA for the settings if you are able to adjust that.
