Before you go reaching for that fancy plugin theres a couple things you should check first. Theres really only 3 things that should be down there 1:subbass (bass drops) which should be 20hz to 30hz 2:kick drum 40hz to 60hz and 3: bass guitar 70hz to 120hz Make sure these are not overlapping and your bass will be super clear and loud. Also make sure to cut these freq out of other componets like vocals for example can sometimes have a low rumble that needs be cut out

I specially have trouble getting that scooped guitar sound with the really tight low mids, I’ve been on the fence about bassmint for a few months but probably going to buy it now

@joshuastubbs19307 ай бұрын
@@noahstrasmann1557 Often with super low guitars, mids and bass basically switch. You WANT mids, rather than bass.

to be honest, when I listen it on my headphones, adding the bass mint plugin on master bus actually removed nice (at least for me) warmth of record. This could be my personal taste though

Great video! About bass-mint. Is it a smart low-end resonance suppressor like Soothe or dynamic eq like Gullfoss? Or something else?
@MOMetalProductions7 ай бұрын
More similar to Gullfoss focused on the lows/low-mids. It's not as tweakable or exact as soothe 2, more shaping the overall frequency response

Hi, Mo!!! I like your videos an the way you communicate. It caught my attention your monitoring distance because I have the same monitors as you (Adam A7X) and I have thinking a lot if I am using them too close to me. I think your position is better and smarter than mine. Can you tell me, please, your experience if you used them closer and the change you found using them in your actual position? And, sorry, one last thing, what distance are them placed between them and from you? It wil be a very precious info for me. Thanks a lot!!!

Hello, in relation to the song reference, at what stage of the mix is it generally done, since the reference is finished and balanced, and our mix is just beginning? thank you
@MOMetalProductions7 ай бұрын
I'd say you should get a good balance and the main tones going first. Also engage bus compression and loudness processing so your transients isn't sticking out too much 🙂

Do i still need to use the "andy sneap trick" to my guitar bus when i use the bass mint? please reply thank you
@MOMetalProductions7 ай бұрын
They do different things. I think the multiband compression on the palm mutes is generally put at 80-200 hz and acting a bit more dynamically, whereas BassMint is slightly more static and acting at more like 150-350 hz by my ear.

What headphone do you use for accurately hearing low-end. I keep reading the sonarworks headphone guides, but they only write which headphone is not good for it 😐.

Nice tutorial man, which emulation room you use in the VSX? I’m struggling with mixing low end in most of the rooms, thanks!

The far monitors in Zuma studios 🙂 and I'm boosting some lows in the built in EQ in VSX to make it a bit more beefy.

@@MOMetalProductions Thanks buddy I'll give it a try and see what happens, I've been working with HD650 emulation and works good for middle range but for low end it's almost not perceptible even with Eq, tweaking.

Could you use track spacer for all tracks instead of pro mb?
@MOMetalProductions7 ай бұрын
I assume so, I am not sure about the attack / lookahead of that one though. It needs to react quickly enough to duck the bass as the kick hits. If it doesn't react quickly enough there is less clarity. That's why the lookahead feature of MB is so good :)
@mattelder42696 ай бұрын
@@MOMetalProductionsI just realized there are attack and release you can control on trackspacer. Do you use those parameters?
