Hey Mo, thanks for sharing! I love the ANA2 Synth. Unfortunately mine has no "Guerilla" preset. Is it possible for you to send it to me? The path sould be /Library/Application Support/Sonic Academy/ANA 2/Presets ? Thank you so much.

What GGD library is that? The snare sounds lower than the ones they usually have...

Im certainly not an expert, not even a novice, but i feel like a lot of these eq's are counterintuitive. Like cutting things out, just to add them back in after seems kinda silly

Hot take, but IMO, metal is actually easier to mix than most other genres. The reason being that most of the effects don't need to be transparent. For other genres, there's a balance of trying to dial everything in with effects while making it sound natural. Metal doesn't need to sound natural, so you can go real hard on the effects.

Great video! How are you handling rythm parts in Hydra? Are you using Power Chord articulation? In my experience it sounds like shit, or I'm doing something wrong. Instead I just use sustain articulation and it sounds fine, but it feels like I'm missing something obvious with it.

8:30 is the precise point why I use midi guitars. I use Axure, and considering SSA just started, I am excited for the future. Amazing video, subbed!

I've been doing this stuff for 18 years, 100% self taught. Seeing a lot of these "tricks" makes me feel validated, as I've been doing all of those this entire time lol thank goodness

That 70hz boost on the kick isn’t working for me Mo 😫what am I doing wrong? I have tried matching your gain staging as best I can! Tried different velocities, it just sounds boomy and like a completely different sample 😢

This sounds awesome! It does make me laugh a bit that every plugin (outside of EQ, pitch shifter and compression) basically adds saturation. Buster uses a shit load of saturation in his mixes, and I love it. For that extra Lovecraftian tone!

Do you have songwriting and mix templates using Logic Pro X? If you did, I would be throwing all of my money at you.… Hundreds and hundreds of dollars, perhaps thousands.

And a good tutorial although not simple. Could this tone be achieved with half the plugins? Or all free plugins?

He strums the lowest open string 90% of time ( like other djent and low tuned metal bands) and adds some little random extra notes here and there. The rhythm is everything with this ridiculously low tuned guitars, cause even if you changed 1 semitone no one would even notice. Its just stupid noise to my ears 😅🤣
