1. Be a student of basketball (watch game film, outsmart opponents) 2. Change speeds, alternating between fast and slow dribble moves, and have quick acceleration. Try to slow the game down mentally aswell. 3. Get inside the paint and coaches will play you more. 4. Use your voice 5. Be a lockdown defender ( don’t be too close if you know that the player is very fast, as there is no defence for people blowing past you. 6. Have great shooting range, as then it will be harder to guard you. 7. Think 2 (think 2 plays ahead) Stay locked in 🔒 👊🏿👊🏿

Being a pg doesn’t mean you gotta be the next a.I or wannabe Julian Newman, a good point guard is one who makes his teammates better by setting them up

Yep. Sorry for the late reply, but being a scorer is second on my list. I play facilitator for my team, and I find it much more rewarding.

I’d like to add: Hesitation(change of speed), good ball handling, decent range, very good floater.

ball handling gotta be more than good at certain levels imo

I’m so glad I didn’t hear anything directly related to ball handling. A lot people just talk about handles. Thank you. This helped some 🙏🏽🙏🏽

dude just came back to this video crying because this stuff really helped me i went from zero to hero couldnt dribble couldnt slash but my passing game has always been elite because im a passing first player but noone on my team including my 8th grade coach saw that in me they seen a bench scrub who only got in if we were up 10 or down 20 and yeah i played bigman as 5’8 in 8th grade and it didnt matter cuz i never played, but now im a good pg 5’11 and can dribble decently not the best but decent get around 6-8 ast a game 9 on a good day shoot around 37%from 3 and get around 10 ppg as a point guard who can also get boards at around 4 rpg because of the time i spent playing bigman im really slow though like luka doncic slow but im the only one on my team that studys ball every day who plays 2k who watches games all the time whenever i play xbox all i play is 2k cuz its fun but i also learn things about basketball all the time, my defense is my liability but it can be worked on as when we versus other teams i dont care my dude i guard corner or if the other dude is not good than i guard

change speeds dribble, misdirection, hesitation dribble slow the game down mentally High level advance mindset strategy use your voice, communicate lockdown defender, don't get too close if the player is fast have great shooting range, harder defenders to guard u think 2 plays ahead good midrange and floater

honestly this is going to be so good for me because i always get put at small forward even though im way better at point guard and im just going to have to show the coach what i can do

I need advice: I have a local team I put together. One guy is our point guard and he can dribble fancy and all, he can shoot better, but I feel I make better pass as in finding openings, cutters, and shooters timely. I may not be as good a dribble As him, but I can dribble safely without fancy moves. Who should be our official point guard moving forward?

When I drive into the middle because it’s wide open my coach fusses me for not passing the ball and being a ball hog. But when another player does it they don’t say anything. I don’t think it’s fair at all.

I feel like Westbrook has a very low iq he’s just insane athletic and gifted on the offensive side. CP3 is no doubt the smartest guy in the league. Dude still making plays at 35
@brainbrain74002 жыл бұрын
He relied so much on his athleticism when he was younger and didn’t learn to adapt his game. Everything about Russ just seems rushed on the court. His application is really bad. His iq isn’t up there.
