BIG tip: get a cinebloom or some other diffusion filter. this almost is always on my camera, it gives that cool bloom/haze around lights that takes a lot of the digital edginess off the photo
@frostialien91913 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!!
@Govvind3333 жыл бұрын
I have been using the Cinebloom 20% for a while, great results! Definitely feels a little overdo, but helps to turn the shot into a banger. 5% would have been better option for daylight shots.

I recommend using Lightrooms grain as opposed to a grain overlay regardless if it's taken from "real" scans or not. It doesn't behave in the same way as real grain because it doesn't interact with midtones or shadows differently. Lightrooms grain actually does interact with your image and adds individual new pixels. In print, it looks far better than any overlay.

Brilliant video! Sidenote: I like the simplicity of the talking head setup taking place in the kitchen with a laptop. That simplicity from a 1m sub channel is refreshing in a era that has so many fancy KZbin studios -- not that those aren't great, it just makes it feel more approachable for those of us that don't have a perfect IKEA-esque space to film in, but would like to build a channel up. Inspiration all around

Thank you so much for another video! I absolutely LOVE the film look and is one of the biggest reason I purchased my first real camera as editing RAW from those cameras is 100x times better than on phones. Also love how you touched on points that other tutorials never do and it's exactly those small things that make the "film look edit" even more realistic. Hope you two had great holidays so far!

Wow! I liked that you covered older versions of Lightroom as well. Additionally, what you did in Photoshop blew my mind!

Would it be possible to see a part 2 where you do this for portraits/lifestyle photos or anything with human subjects? Maybe even a couple different camera brands raws (Sony, Canon, Fuji etc)? Getting skin tones and the overall look on par with film can be tricky sometimes. I shoot Sony, and Canon/Fuji seems a little easier to get there, but any brand would be really cool to see.

00:30 🎨 Adjust greens in digital photos towards blues using the HSL panel in Lightroom for a more film-like look. 01:41 🎨 Enhance shadows in digital photos by adjusting hue and saturation, mimicking the coloration of film stocks, particularly in older versions of Lightroom or using split toning. 02:37 📷 Create a red halation effect resembling film using Photoshop by duplicating, applying effects, and blending layers, especially for effects like halation not easily achievable in Lightroom. 03:49 🎞 Add film grain to digital photos in Photoshop for a more authentic film look, using overlays or extracted grain from actual film, rather than relying solely on Lightroom's grain effect.
