What a great video format. This was so very useful! Loved the "don't do, do instead", just amazing!

These mindsets are amazing. They need to go into a book! Thank you so much for the time you put into this. So life changing. I’ve written them out and put them next to my bed so I can see them daily as reminders!

Don't rush is the best one! Something funny happened to me recently. I'm a freelance interpreter for the Italian language, and I was supposed to accompany a group of Italians for a work visit, starting at 11.00 AM. They picked me up at the station at 10.50, as it was far away from where I live. I thought "great, we are just on time". But then, they stopped at a bar for a coffee. Eventually, we arrived at 11.20 and nobody was worried. The need for a coffee break was stronger than the rush ❤😂 that blew my mind!

I've been afraid to have other women from bible study to come to my house because I have fewer toys. 😂😂😂

That’s ok as children fight over them anyway. They prefer to play together. Children get far too much and still aren’t happy sometimes.

I feel the same way. We have a playroom but it is a very small room. And I only have 4 totes of toys. I always worry that the other kids will get bored quickly.

Thank you for this! Just had baby #2 2 months ago and I’m finally really understanding how clutter can affect everything especially my mindset. All of these were .so relatable! I’ve never felt the need to simplify more. Especially now that I have 2 boys ! 🤪

Hello Community I have a question: what do I do if I am the only minimalist in my family: husband and kids are not🙈I feel stuck - I miss structure as my husband is doing his own thing and completely refusing minimalism which is ok of course but I don’t feel well with the bigger and more any more

Maybe you can make room for yourself where you can find peace and not look at the others stuff, and maybe you could declutter kids toys ,if thats a problem. On my journey I hated picking up the same little bits of toys over and over,cause they were just being thrown around instead of played with,they ended in the trash, that felt good an noone missed them. Maybe you could explain to your husband how overwhelmed you are by your family stuff . Before i decluttered my stuff kept telling me what i have yet to do and i wanted to walk away the moment i opened the door,like my battery was always empty.

At this point, you might as well make your house a beige like those beige moms like for once wear green or something
@cruzhammond69072 ай бұрын
Why do people like minimalism like it is plain and boring is it easy making a design yes does it uncluttered your mind in making a decision yes but I rather take 10 mins in deciding a outfit and end of enjoying it then wearing the same outfit everyday of course I not saying you have to go to the supreme store or anything or be expensive clothing or Buy clothes every single day but at he same time you should not wear the same thing for 100 years like for once just wear a different color or a different outfit a least like of course don’t buy clothes every day but at the same time do not where the same thing every day like like just get at least three pieces of clothing every month of course, I’m not trying to say care about the opinions of others every time you make a outfit but at the same don’t wear the same thing like wear a different something different my point

I have been a minimalist for about 5-6 years and it has been life changing. I now have a son (almost 2 years old) and I put this immense pressure on myself to make his childhood magical…but I’m struggling with thinking that means more toys and stuff…I know things don’t make us happy but I am just struggling! 🫣😭
@Sweet_serendipity_2 ай бұрын
I saw something recently that said a happy childhood is much more about the things we can’t buy them! Our affection, attention, time, & intentionality. That was so helpful for me, and I hope it helps you too! Madisun Gray made a reel about it recently also.
@sumgolfer412 ай бұрын
@ thank you for sharing! I think I know this then I compare to my non minimalist friends who have literal playrooms FULL of toys. Comparison is the thief of joy!
@cruzhammond69072 ай бұрын
Of course you should not let comparison be the thrift of joy but still you should have colors especially if you are 5 years old like it is a part of development for goodness sake like being a beige mom is ruining your kids life of of course, I’m not trying to say everything is sunshine and rainbows and that you should tell your kids to all sunshine and rainbows, but the same time don’t be a beige mom if you want your room to be beige then that is fine but if you are forcing your kids to have beige rooms or black and white then that is terrible
@sumgolfer412 ай бұрын
@@cruzhammond6907 agreed! We are minimalists in terms of the amount of things we own/only owning what we use & need. We are not afraid of color in our home or wardrobe!
