Personally, I believe Izzy and Alex’s rivalry is over and it seems to have ended on good terms with that video of them at the airport and their post fight meet up where they talked and shook hands. Obviously there wasn’t any real bad blood between the two but after Izzy denied Alex’s call out to 205 (which is fair imo) Alex understood that their time sharing the ring and octagon together is over.

Izzy even admits his story with Alex is over.

yea it seems that izzy respects alex as a competitor, would love to see izzy train with alex one day
@adub921992 ай бұрын
That last fight was for Izzy to prove to himself that he could beat him on paper. When Alex called him out Izzy wasn’t in the space to compete and they definitely ended on a good note. I’d rather see them train with each other honestly
@ruseruser22272 ай бұрын
100% agree. Too many fans also misunderstand Izzy's statement on his win to Alex in 287. It wasn't that he didn't accept more fights because he thought he was better, it was a win that finally let him put the gloves down on that rivalry. I don't know whether we'll see anything with those two within the UFC with Izzy done with his time as title defender and Alex probably closing his arc within the next year, but it'd be amazing to see them train together some time in the future, given both of their presences on KZbin.

Khabib called Tony's downfall like Babe Ruth called his runs; And if we're all honest we know how that would have gone down. The only rivalry here you can consider unfinished is connor vs mcgregor the only close second is izzy vs pereira and it was the perfect ending let’s not pretend like izzy wasn’t winning every single fight against alex (im an alex fan) and he either got caught or robbed
@zacharycarroll80632 ай бұрын
Alex vs Izzy will never happen again. Izzy finally admitted to the fact that he can’t beat Alex the way he’s been fighting recently. At the end of the day he just wanted the last laugh and doesn’t really care about trying to prove himself as the better fighter overall. It would’ve obviously made plenty of sense for Alex bs Izzy to have been at 205 if they did fight given the fact Alex has basically suffered the worst weight cuts of all middleweights given his size to fight Izzy 4 times, and the fact that Izzy can actually fill up to 205 given his bout with Jan. But at the end of the day it really is just a thing of the past. Alex is 3-1, but lost the final fight, Alex has beaten everyone Izzy has lost to in the ufc aside from recently DDP, as well as beating Hill who izzy personally helped train to try and beat Alex

Poatan won that. Luckily they ended it on good terms but until that point Alex live rent free. He has done what Izzy couldn’t do in kickboxing or mma. That rivalry semi died when Poatan beat Jan and it definitely died when he became LHWC also. We can talk all about it Izzy 1 win over Alex, but it doesn’t negate that this man was Izzy worst nightmare at his own weight class and he even outclassed him in LHWD. I don’t need to an end of a rivalry that fans are making up for the sake of Izzy might winning a second time. Izzy said himself. It’s over. Izzy got a W and won the battle while Alex got 3 W and won the war.
@rolandbishop17162 ай бұрын

Not really tbh DC was past his prime, cutting from heavyweight and had the height n reach disadvantage plus jones was on juice in the 2nd fight and was losing up until that headkick so that win doesn’t really count. Jon also openly said he’d never fight DC at heavyweight which is why they never ended up finishing the trilogy

Jones beat DC twice but ultimately lost the title and tainted his own legacy. DC won the rivalry tbh.
