In CSS at least, padding goes INSIDE a container, margin goes OUTSIDE a container.

Margin traditionally goes outside of the container in CSS. However, it looks like Unity UI Toolkit by default is basically doing the CSS equivalent of using the border-box option for the box-sizing property. So a margin/border actually is included inside the container.

Problem is, ui toolkit is like much of unity these days. A half finished product that's been in development for years
