Finally getting around to sorting out my 3TJ FZR400RR, and after a lot of failed attempts at lining up timing marks and STILL having valve/piston interference when I turn the crank by hand, I turn to Googling FZR400 camshaft arrows, and stumble across this video, and who should it be? None other than my old mate Vash from YZF600R.com! I've seen the error of my ways - I've got the arrows on my camshaft caps pointing forward, when it seems they should point at each other so that the exhaust camshaft timing mark is at 12 o'clock and the intake is at about 1 o'clock. No wonder I was having problems. I'll flip the covers around on the exhaust shaft caps, line up the dots (again!) and I should be right. Thanks, Vash!

hey man whats the best way to get my bike back in time cause its really giving me a hard time trying to line all my marks up together....plus i just lost all compression in cylinder 4....im thinking its my rings even tho i just put them in.....but i let it sit 4 awhile after i put them in so i think there starting 2 freeze up on me in this weather...any suggestions thanks in advance..

@thatcutndude1 first id recomend going to yzf600r.com and joing the forums. yes off cam timing can cause a no run situation. but it would only happen if you had it appart or the timming chain broke. it is interfernce motor so it cant be too far off. if you literally have "no spark" at the plugs you have electrical problems. join the forums post there all the help you need is there.
