We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. kzbin.infoUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

Very helpful - thanks! I start to get a little wobbly and forward-leaning as I tire, and this will help me remember to stay upright.

Also yes you can do semi long distance with the Airdyne. Go at relatively slow to medium speed around 60 rpms and do 5-10 miles. Do the last two at 70 rpms.

Why do I feel like it’s not working my cardio good no matter how hard I work ? Does this have to do with the wind cooling me down ?

Great tips, clearly you are totally professional with an airbike. So wondering - what BPM can you reach with this one? Now assume one is mostly used to run for cardio and rarely to do spinning. Say I usually run 10km which I used to accomplish in a leisure tempo with 150-160 pulse, which normally takes me about 50 min. Can I ever reach this BPM on this thing? It looks kinda more attractive to me than the spinning bike because it offers some concurrent arm work. Still wondering, is it really a cardio thing and would it actually come at expense of the possibility of attaining a constant moderate BPM over a time? Do you say it is merely good for a short warmup? Would really appreciate some clues before I decide.

did u decide? I'm in pretty good cardio shape (but have trouble with fast-twitch, anaerobic type stuff since getting sick a few years ago). But I can still go for a nice 2-3 mile run. This bike kicks my butt super quickly. It will get you to a very high bpm super fast. Almost like if you were stuck in a pool of mud (thicker than water) and had to tread mud, it would get very tiring very quickly. That's how this is.

Is there a difference between assault bikes? My gym has one and my time wasn't bad on 50 calories. There are quite a few videos showing world records that are easily beaten and that makes me wonder if some assault bikes are easier

Can you use it without holding the handles, or is it less beneficial
@ericsalinas18394 жыл бұрын
Is it a good idea to keep the thumbs wrapped around the handle?
@ConstantlyVariedFitness4 жыл бұрын
It's the same concept as to why people that race bicycles wear shoes that clip into the pedals, so they can push one foot down while the other one pulls up. Wrapping your thumbs around will allow you have a stronger pull of one hand while the other is pushing.

These bikes are psycho, for the crazy pro endurance athlete. Try 60 plus RPM for 20 min if possibe. Leave in a stretcher. Although i hear some triathletes and ultramarathoners can do plus 80 rpm for plus 30 min or over an hour or so. Its pure insanity when you pass 80 RPM, similar to a 400 meter sprint.

Keep your torso quiet. Concentrate on your arms and legs moving, not your head, neck, shoulders, etc..

Can you pedal standing up on this bike?
@ConstantlyVariedFitness4 жыл бұрын
You definitely can. It's just a little awkward since the handles move unlike a traditional spin bike.

You don’t want your hips rocking on the bike either. If they are then the saddle is too high
@tangosucka20003 жыл бұрын
The RPMs aren't measured at the wheel of the bike. It's measured at the pedals/crank rotation. There's a massive difference there. Please do research before making videos and giving 'expert' advice.....
