Right, it's for mature adults with responsibilities, and harmless children, it does not apply to teens and 20 somethings. If buddy is getting in your face he is just looking for a reason to hit you, and embarrassing him in front of his crowd might just be enough. He has already decided he can best you physically, or he would not be there, and his crowd expects him to beat you or they would not be there. It's up to you to defuse the situation while standing your ground and establishing boundaries for any further encounters.

If your outnumbered and being bullied though? Also teaming up with people can just mean getting advice etc. When in conflict it is stressful, getting outside opinions can be helpful as there may be things that you miss.

I don't see any problem with teaming up with allies to defeat your enemy. That sort of phenomenon could spontaneously happen in a bar or restaurant where you are having a drink or dinner with your friends and the person who's trying to make your life a living hell tries to humiliate you in front of them. If they are true friends, then they will defend you automatically. Teaming up with people doesn't necessarily mean that you should get a group of people to join you every time you face your enemy.

No you did not. Our battles is not with people. "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12)". The way to defeat the unseen enemies working through people to torment and harass us is to pray for the people these demons are using to fight us. Bless the good in these people, have little or no contact with them while you wage spiritual war (using the Sword of the Spirit, the WORD of God) on the demons working through them. Stand on the WORD, and see your enemies become friends.

This always works - laugh in mockery at your enemy for days on end when you see them. Let them know you're laughing at them. This upsets and frightens the biggest foe. If the person is violent, still laugh while looking in their general direction not directly at them. They'll scoot.
