@@RyzeVirtualNatureNHiking I despise people like this, who are aware you don't like them, but continue on their sadistic quest to speak anyway. Sounds like a psychopath, because they take delight in doing things that irritate people who hate them. This is harassment, but since you are in a work environment, there's nothing much to stop it. I have a neighbor who would do this, and I ignored him, but he took it a step further, by raising his voice with profanities. Well, I reported him and viewed it as harassment and threatening, and he stopped, but replaced it with reckless eyeballing. I guess there's nothing I can do about that and have to settle with it. It's like having two choices of poisons to select from, and you have to choose one over the other one, but not satisfied with either. He knew in advance that I wanted no contact with him, but chose to do it anyway. What they fail to realize is that, if you talk to someone knowing they don't want to talk to you, it's a violation of personal space. This constitutes harassment, because they are intentionally doing it, knowing it can lead to conflict. Also, they assume since it's not physical, it isn't harmful because they didn't lay a hand on you. This is BS because it causes emotional distress and psychological problems when you are unable to control the situation. In lame terms, it is bullying.

When I was with my narcissistic verbally abusive ex, I learn very quickly, my silence was the best answer, there’s no arguing with someone who “ knows he’s right,” regardless of what I say. I could prove him wrong with facts and data but he denied the evidence. Unfortunately I still have to deal with him sometimes as we have 2 kids together, I choose if and when I want to speak to him. He still tries to abuse me with threats, shouting etc, I hang up and tell him calmly, when you’re in a better mood to talk to me, I’ll talk to you then, I hang up, as I’ve taken back control, he will continue to call me so I switch phone of, I have a brain tumour, been to Queens hospital in London to try and remove it, countless hospital appointments! According to him I don’t have a brain tumour, it’s hormone inbalance!!!!! When he left I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders I could breath again, taken me 5 years to accept what has happened to me, find peace in myself and become me again, I’m happier than I’ve been in the last 20 years, life’s good, I can handle anything life throws at me, I’m stronger, taken back control of my life,

When other people try to get you off the balance, don't talk, stay calm, even if your emotions are running wild inside you...and just smile with a soft grin back, that really pisses insecure people off ;) Now I talked too much...again lol

Two things show weakness in a person : To be silent when it’s proper to speak & To speak when it’s proper to be silent !
@jasonrudolph4915 жыл бұрын
Nawaz Raja Agreed! The wisdom comes in knowing the difference! In my experience most people error on the side of talking too much and for the wrong reasons cited on this video. To me- speak when it can truly can make a real difference. The problem is that increasingly in today’s society most people don’t want to truly listen. They either want to talk over you, dismiss you outright or pretend to listen just to get your arguments out of the way so that then they can tell how it really is or should be.
@roberthboyd60734 жыл бұрын
Nawaz Raja I love it this is so true
@robertjohnson44014 жыл бұрын
I agree with half of this but I do not believe it shows weakness to not speak when it is proper to speak. You can remain silent and your silence provides no information that can damage you. For instance, talking with police even though you have nothing to hide. Not talking protects you against false and manipulative actions meant to trap you.

Do: know when to be silent Do not: Choose silence over effective communication in relationships nor expression (dance) just because you think someone will make fun of you. These forms of silence border on narcissism. Don't lock yourself up, choose life, without worrying about judgements. Build your resilience if you must, but do not shut up... learn to speak up.
@vkrgfan5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes it sounds like something Narcissist would do. Because why would you play mind games on someone? What’s goal? To make them jealous of your success? LOL sounds immature to me. If you surround yourself with caring people not backstabbers, they will be happy for you to succeed.

VKRGFAN RGFAN The problem is that one cannot realistically always control whom surrounds them at all times- at least most people. I think the point is to strive to have the wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent. People often speak to influence (for good or bad depending on your morals compass) or gain acceptance or validity and silence can be equally powerful. I don’t the video is saying to always be silent or not engage the world but to be disciplined when and where. Most people talk too much in the wrong situations and for the wrong reasons.
@vkrgfan5 жыл бұрын
Jason Rudolph Oh I totally agree, however it sounds like this video advocate sneaky revenge. Oh i’ll be quiet and succeed and wow Narcissistic jerks that don’t respect me. Number one, we can’t wow everyone with results because not everyone appreciates it. Two, every person perceives success differently, three the definition of success in the West is who earns more money. Who are we trying to impress or discipline? If you are in the toxic environment at work working for a boss that disrespects and exploits you, trust me your achievements won’t make things better. We choose to stay surrounded by toxic people and fear prevents us from living. Only children have no choice to escape abusive parents but this video is for adults not children.
