I finally started watching videos from my ‘Watch Later’ playlists, and realized that I have a bunch from this channel. I started writing SOPs recently, but after watching your video….nah, mine are over detailed and too long. Already benefiting from your content and site resources. Thank you :)

I was the key person in my old role, and the CEO to this day hasn't replaced me. (I left due to needing major surgery, still recovering atm). Since then - 18 months ago - the business has had THREE threats from government stating the business will be shut down if XYZ doesn't happen within ABC time. Absolutely huge damage is being done to the business, because there was no plan for my departure despite having months of notice. I really feel for the existing start.

I can’t believe they didn’t hire a replacement as your assistant to shadow, take notes and get familiar with the routine. Also, before you left I would ask you to write a ‘manual’ and SOP templates (from this channel lol) and have you describe your job, daily duties, common questions and issues and break it down from there. I would pay extra or ask for 30min to hour a day to focus on the manual. There were solutions but it sounds like they all were thinking the same, “not my company, not my problem.” Hope your recovery goes well :)

Hi Layla, great video! This year, from January - July, we averaged $80,000 in new sales. In August, our sales fell to $14,000! Why? One of the members of our 3 person sales team took a 2 week vacation. Ugh.

What is the best app to write SOP for a wellness spa business?

What app do you mean? Like app to help you creaate SOP or just an app to do it in? Be specific. I've used Notion and Google Sheets

2:40 How can you track issues? This came up recently and we posted it in a Google Chat with learnings, IE X happened, next time we need to do Y. If we used a SOP for this, we'd update it.

Do you provide one on one consulting? I need help working with my team more efficient, it’s driving us crazy.

Right now we have a hybrid course + coaching group program but we plan to add a 1-1 option by the end of 2024. Want to share a bit more about what you're looking for? You can send an email to hello@processdriven.co.

Really good video. You are back on track. I disagree with just one thing - min/max strategy is not always good. Even though we have central task management list and everyone can check the progress, I encourage team communication (in office), because otherwise the environment doesn't feel healthy and we become PC zombies :) Team members can communicate as much as they want as long as they meet their deadlines.

Are there any smart ways to increase my earning ability and salary as hvac engineer in Aec construction industry without depending on years of experience which is a pre requisite sometimes to determine salary.. which books would help in this scenario and becoming indispensable or irreplaceable...
@l0lerman3 ай бұрын
Every engineering work needs lot of knowledge, which is obtained with years of experience. To increase your earning ability you either need to focus hard on your current job and show your superiors you've got what it takes for a promotion or if you think this is not an option you can try to take side HVAC projects and also increase your experience. Either way you need to focus on one thing and get better in it. Becoming irreplaceable isn't a good thing. Layla will tell you that :) Is this a smart way? I think yes, but in a different way.

Advertising / Marketing your services to grow leads. Delivering in your promises by providing good service. Asking for Google Business reviews from every customer you service. Reliability is a main issue in the service industry. Returning calls timely, showing up on time or early, and delivering what you sold is major. Most companies flub the customer interaction in some way.
@bc41982 ай бұрын
Yes! In short, either more hours or more $ per hour. That would presumably be determined by the value you provide to the customer... Sometimes you need more customers, but sometimes you more need different ones 🤔 If there's some niche thing that is new or different, that nobody can claim long experience in, then you can get in there yourself. I dunno... High Velocity, newer / better filtration, energy exchange, etc. You'll know better than me, which is the whole point 👍😊. But seniority only determines pay so much if you're doing the same thing as everybody else. There are also some resources out there focusing specifically on systemizing or automating service businesses, which you should check out. Anything to help you maximize the quality of your work, and minimize the time spent on stuff that isn't "the real work" - so things like automating client onboarding, invoices, project management, etc. And you might also benefit from Lean production /management concepts. Layla has the best for the business / team management end of things, but you might want to look at Ryan Tierney / Seating Matters for direct nuts & bolts things like hardware inventory control, workstation design, etc. Combining both the office side and construction side of improvements can help you get "more hours" without actually working more - or help you keep more of the money you make, even before you're able to bring more in (bottom line vs. top line).
