I love these strummy versions, because I can get to playing them quickly, and gradually grow in complexity as I internalize the progression.

One of the things I love most about the campfire versions is it always makes me wonder how hard the real version is so I usually end up learning both ways to play the song which helps me grow in leaps and bounds so fast in my guitar skills. Combined with his excellent description of chord names and alternate positions etc, I freaking love this channel. Kind of like a small free version of Music theory for those of us who haven't been lucky enough to make that our career direction when we were young. If only we could get a do-over in life huh?

@@TorrentFiend10you both nailed exactly what I experience. I find learning the originals versions to many songs very hard but learning the laid back campfire versions has given me the confidence and brought the fun to make me eventually try those harder versions and naturally has been improving my guitar knowledge and skills. Much love on the journey to y’all 🫶🏻 🎶

Love it. I’ve got to believe the experience of listening to the Campfire People’s best guess at the lyrics has got to be worth the price of admission. Cheers!!

Great video for people learning as it really did a good job of showing how you can get the same/similar sounds in various ways on the fretboard.

You are the best, I have played this tune for years. I pretty much had it down. I looked at so many versions that had the main intro riff tabbed, then straight into standard chords and lyric but when you get to that part with the Emaj7 chord with the Eb in the root, they just play or A, E, B, or E, B, A which just doesn't sound right. Dude! Just hours before you published this vid it was PJ's 2nd concert here (they played Fri and Sun), and the last song was Yellow Ledbetter and it was incredible! And also you mentioned "Throw Your Arms Around Me".. well they played that just a few songs earlier along with Neil Finn from Crowded House

Absolutely sick, the lesson I never knew I wanted! Capo 2 was so easy to play right away, as a beginner the original is kinda out of reach lol. I threw in some sus 2's on the D and A up strums, sounds great!

Hi Ryan! I hope you're OK in these apocalyptic times. I can sing the song and play the original riff at the same time no problem, what I struggle a lot with (and being Spaniard doesn't help) are the lyrics so if you have the chance to talk to Stone again or even better if you get to have Eddie on your channel, please ask him: "what the actual fuck are you singing nana eh, nana oh and then sing it agaaain"

Johnny Marr said in an interview recently that he always kinda stuck with the capo on 4 so now all i hear is the smiths version of YL around 9:15
