When a soldier died in combat in World War II, soldiers delivered a letter written on yellow paper to the soldier's family, usually his mother or wife. Normally, this family member would see the military vehicle approaching and welcome them on the porches of the houses. These family members knew this, they didn't want to receive the "Yellow Ledbetter". The story of this lyric is more or less this.

For a band that fought Ticketmaster long ago over price gouging, they have become unaffordable these days. Wanted to catch them this summer but couldn’t afford the $500 plus being charged in the secondary market when you are not fortunate enough to buy them at face values.

About 2 years ago, band management/ corporations started pricing tickets for what they sold for the night of the show eliminating the resellers. Just info here, not on their side. I remember standing in line for hours for tickets. Hardcore fans without a lot of money had no other choice. Good memories though.

Go see them before it's too late, my friend. It is an amazing experience. I just saw them in Indianapolis last Monday. Only regret was having to leave the show 20 minutes early so I could beat the traffic home. Yellow leadbetter was the only song I missed. Heard the last 3 before that one on the way to the car. I want to go see them and stay until the very end. Damned responsibilities.. only got 4 hours of sleep that night but it was worth it! Go see them! They aren't getting any younger.

I’ve always wondered why I put off listening to Pearl Jam and tool for such a very long time… And I never really understood why… But then I started listening to bush and then everything zen came full circle… One thing I’ve always appreciated. Is Michael McCready’s guitar playing… There’s nothing that sounds anything like his guitar playing in all grunge music in my opinion…. At this point in time I appreciate Pearl Jam a lot more than I used to when I was younger. I was much more into Alice In Chains’s and stone Temple pilots at that time. I’m gonna go by adding some of my shamelessness was intentional and to save other peoples lives… Keep that in mind… Just saying.
