Been using C1 since its inception & this is one of the best, easiest-to-understand and practical examples of how working pros can use the colour editor tool in their everyday workflow.

I use the capture one skin tone all the time on things that aren't skin. I wish I could use it on multiple things at once, it'd be such a good change!!

The change you suggest would not "add a lot of power" to C1. It would only reduce the number of layers a user would have to create. I believe it is unlikely that Capture One will implement this change as it will impact on processing speed without being limited by the number of layers. There is a reason why the number of layers is limited (to a sometimes restrictively low number). With the suggested change, they could also get rid of the "Skin Tone" tool, since it would become redundant. That is not likely to happen, is it? BTW, you don't need to create a mask from the "Skin Tone" tool in your first example. You can just as well, and more quickly, just create a filled layer and then remove any parts you don't want to have affected from the latter. The parts that are missing from the mask you created won't be affected by the "Skin Tone" tool anyhow. The mask you created could be useful for other purposes, but a standard application of the "Skin Tone" tool does not need that extra step.
