4 Wheel Drive Lever Stuck!?

4 wheel drive lever stuck, came across this while doing the cable shifter upgrade.
As far as the bushings I can’t find any online, if you can find any please leave a comment and link to where it is because in this day in age these old 90s jeeps (and older) have a lot of rusty crusty crud everywhere, eventually I’ll have a rust proofing video.
I didn’t expect to have my 4 wheel drive lever or transfer case lever stuck, seems like an un common problem because it was the rust under the plastic bushings where most are stuck due to a mechanical problem, if yours is stuck take off your center console and the guiding gate, take a peak down there squirt some WD-40 around there and see how bad the rust is, it’s a possibility that could be why it’s harder to shift and possibly not the linkages fault.

I am working on a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with V8 automatic full drive. And it will drive in 4 wheel drive. But when you take it out a 4 wheel drive, it acts like it's in neutral and they won't drive into world drive. What could be my problem?

More then likely it’s a transfer case/gearbox issue, if you’re moving the transfer case lever and it’s not driving in the other T-Case options that’s more then likely the issue

I need new bushings. Any advice? My lever broke because it was so stuck and rusted. Need help!

If you can find a replacement lever and housing assembly that’s not rusted up at a junk yard that would be the fastest way to fix the problem. If you have the means and cannot find one online or at a junk yard, go to a machine shop and have them make you something like what was shown in the video. Hope I hope you can get it resolved

Sounds like it could be a linkage or gearbox issue

Great to know. Just got a 98 with 67,100 miles and no movement in lever. I’ll bet this is why. Thank you.
