Great drone footage. Amazing how at around 11 min in you can see how tiny your trucks look in that big open space. You are in the middle of nowhere. Love this series and your videos

Another great video Ronny, I'm really enjoying the series. With the vehicle issues, I can sympathize with you there. I did the Munja over 5 days back in July 2016, with my wife and son. After initially hitting the track, we had starter motor issues at the first major creek crossing. I high-tailed it back to the station after getting a roll start from a few fellow 4wds. A few hours later and a few phone calls to my mechanic in Kununurra, we diagnosed it was a blown relay. I was determined to stay on the track and with a bit of advice from a few of the station hands, we learnt how to arc out the starter with a screwdriver! 5 days on the Munja, the misses would get in, foot on the brake and hit the ignition as I lay under the motor with the screwdriver. It worked and we made it through without any other issues, thank goodness! Was a mission going solo but I was determined not to head home. Glad we did it and I'm really enjoying seeing you guys do the same. Next time I'm definitely taking a mate or 2. Cheers for the videos, keep them coming. Smithy, from Kununurra.

Hey Ronny! I have a recommendation for keeping grass out of the rad. I take a piece of screen (window mesh), and use cable ties to ties it somewhere between the front grill and the radiator. Keeps anything from sticking to the rad, and as a plus when bugs hit it, they stick to it and not your rad. Prevents a lot rad plugging and makes cleaning very easy. Just remove the mesh, give it a good shake, and put it back in place. Great job on the videos, I really enjoy them!

Hey another great episode. I have similar issues with water, I use 20l jerrys as well. For a couple of years now I've been using a siphon hose to my billy or drink bottles for my 'using' water. I don't have to siphon every time then and if I have excess I pour it back in when I'm packing up. By the time the jerry is too empty for the siphon to work the jerry is nice and light.

Ronny, if that smaller blue ground cloth is made from synthetic materials, it may take RIT dye effectively. Boil up a big pot or metal rubbish can of water big enough to fit that entire ground cloth in. Add whatever color of RIT dye you want to change to. Allow it to simmer until you achieve the color you are looking for. Drain, rinse, and air dry.

Wow crazy, sleeping on the ground right next to water with salties in it. Years back in the Kimberleys some friends and I did a multi day canoe and camping trip in fresh water crocodile territory. No salties. We were told their mostly harmless but set up camp up from the waters edge. We thought 100 or so meters was good - wrong ! Damn things were walking / dragging through our camp in the middle of the night. To be woken up as one was sliding beside the tent. I spent the rest of the night scared as heck, holding the only weapon I had, a knife. Like that was going to help me. Ronny, love the videos. The four wheeling is good but so many places you've shown I've also been. Good times, very cool and hello from Canada

And one thing people seems to have forgotten. Ronny has changed his whole rear axle housing because the old one got bend!! On Brians jeep a bracket broke and so many people scream how bad the jeep is. Fantastic. Take a look on Ronnys video how much that had to be repaired on his landcruiser after 100 000 km. It was actually a lot more than I thought is was going to be. Anyway, When you use your rigs like this again, and again and again things does break. Does not matter what brand.

My thoughts too. There must be some real spoil-sports out there with sad little lives. All the effort and time that goes into making stuff like this and a tiny minority just have to be miserable. I suspect it is more about jealousy and the fact that they have no lives off-line.

Water container idea. You could have 1 water container set up with the tap, or with a hose going down to a tap under the tray... then just refill it as it runs out. You'd still have a multi container system but with the convenience of only filling up the main container once in a while.

jk's will break the swaybar bracket off if you don't disconnect offroad but it's usually the opposite side. on the plus side the jeep now rides a lot smoother with no side to side pitching with the swaybar disconnected.

drunkandgreasy yes it would as on rhd the drivers side is just a tab. the side brian broke has the a larger bracket incorporating the steering stabilizer so it's a lot stronger and more weld. his steering stabilizer is bent pretty bad good chance that may have copped a hit and snapped the bracket off.

Cruiser has cracks , Jeep has cracks , all the comments about Jeeps lol, Also disconnecting the sway bar makes for a smoother ride,. You didnt have to remove the sway bar just the links. The sway bar can stay put with the links off, its just needed set to centre so it does not foul the inner side wall when flexing.

+Ronny Dahl I use a gravity feed food grade hose that runs from my water containers and dangles over the side of my ute for ease of use when I need it, which have a shut of tap at the bottom with a nozzle works a treat. P.S can you post some close up pics of your ute tray, car body and bar work just to show how it's held up over the last few years, obviously you do some pretty hard stuff just wondering how many scratches/pin striping and rust you have showing through. In the US they have twine or poly tape with a few strands of wire woven in for electric fencing (for horses). Very flexible and cheap. They also have a Fence Charger that uses very little juice until it senses a ground fault then spikes the voltage up. If you carried a 100 meter roll of the tape/ twine, a few insulators and the charger you could set out a perimiter fence that would keep the crocs (or other animals) at a safe distance. I'd imagine if a croc got zapped by one of the 20 acre units he'd make some noise so you'd know he was there. Then you could borrow a rifle from whichever American was with you to shoot the varmint. After hearing Andrew St. Pierre (sp) say damper (referencing something edible) and then you said it again, so before i got to the explanation on the video, i had to look it up on wiki. Camp bread...ok...lol. What's wrong with using a cheap tarp as your ground sheet? As bright lights hurt my eyes (such as Coleman lanterns), i carry a tripod mast that extends to 20' high (homemade from 1" and 3/4" EMT steel conduit) with an LED light up top, to act as an area light (like a parking-lot light). For the LED i used a 1000-lumen 'drop-in-module' from dealextreme. Powered by a 12V security-system battery sitting on the ground. It lights up the whole campsite from above, and if you get a 3-5 mode module, or with a 1-mode use a PWM dimmer (ebay) it can be dimmed down. The bugs tend to go for it as well which keeps them away from me. For a flashlight i use a Fenix LD22, which runs on 2 Eneloop AA rechargeables. It would light up that riverbank like you were being abducted by aliens.

@seanyc86
@seanyc86 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Don, if you google Kimberley Weather right now you'll see the cyclones and weather forecasts. That part of Australia gets some amazing amounts of water and only really has the wet and the dry seasons, not the usual four seasons. Having been to Arizona a couple of times, and experienced some of your storms, its a bit similar, the dry sandy stuff doesn't hold water very well and the rivers eat it all up. The tides in the Kimberley are some of the biggest in the world, google the Horizontal Falls!!
@donleamon8653
@donleamon8653 6 жыл бұрын
+ Sceanyc86, thanks for the info! I was just surpised as I didn't see anything that would generate that amount of water other than rain. Not like we have here with snowfall melt. And you're correct, our summer monsoons can get the washes, arroyos and dry creekbeds running *real* fast. Those tides that Ronny shot were impressive. Cholla Bay down in Rocky Point, Mexico is the largest surge I've seen, and it is nothing like that! Peace!
