Cool stuff, man! I have lots of HiveOS videos including BIOS Modding on my channel. Like others have said, that outside GPU is cooler because of its location and pulling cooler air from outside the rig while others are pulling warmer air from the GPU next to it. Love the build!

The link for those from homedepot is here: www.homedepot.ca/product/paulin--8-x-3-4-inch-flat-head-square-drive-wood-screws-zinc-plated-26pcs/1000119115 One thing to be mindful of is being very careful when you're putting in the screws so that you don't bend/break the motherboard. I also added a rubber spacer between the motherboard and the wood to elevate it a bit.

@DaniTalksTech
@DaniTalksTech 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Balochcode. One major thing to note here is that 3060s won't hash fully when using risers. There is a limitation that NVIDIA put on them and the only way to go around that is with a certain method. You can see my video about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYiQqamNgapqmMU As for the risers, I got mine from gpurisers.com you can also get them from amazon.

I really appreciate your video, I will shortly assemble my first rig and follow your instructions carefully : clear, complete, short and from begin to end! Only one observation, may be someone already wrote on this theme : i think the right card is the coldest and the left card the hottest only because the right one breathes free air and can blow cold air on the card. The others, with each step you take to the left, breathe heated air from the board to their right, and therefore become progressively warmer. It may be appropriate to review the positioning of the gpu cards, I speak in general and not strictly about your rig, taking into account that each one should have fresh air and not heated by the one next to it. For example by placing them horizontally side by side or, returning to the vertical case, building a guide for each fan that helps the fan itself to draw fresh air from outside the array. Better still it would be to feed this guide with an external fan placed at 90 degrees with respect to the directions of the gpu cards.
@DaniTalksTech
@DaniTalksTech 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Giuseppe, thank you very much for your kind comment and for watching my videos. I appreciate it a lot! Good luck with building your first rig. In regards to the temperatures of the GPUs, I have since then been able to manually manipulate the fan speed to maintain a cool consistent temperature on each. As you already mentioned, the positioning also makes a big difference. I set up my fan speed at 70% at the coldest end and progressively increased it to 85 at the warmest end. This kept all the cards cool and under 60C or 55C.

Who knows? Check memory junction temperature using HwInfo. I've increased fan speed to about 1350 rpm after seeing 44C gpu but 75C on memory on 6800 (non xt). This keeps mem temp at 72C. I'd love some experienced people comment on the life of GPU fan. Should we keep them as low as possible and let memory heat up to 85C in the summer?

It took me a veeeeery long time to figure out the z390A pro. It was so buggy to make more than 4 cards work. What I ended up doing is: 1- Enabling 4G Decoding. 2-Changing PCIE speed to Gen2. Change Windows OS configuration from CSM to UEFI. I also had to play a lot with the sequence of putting in the cards. I started out with PCIE1 and went chronologically to 6. Hi Abdifatah, it depends on the price you buy your GPUs at. Do not buy them at crazy prices. For example, just like what Nightcore said, an RX580 should be around $180 USD to $220 USD depending on where you are. But some people are selling it for double. Find good deals online. Also, keep in mind your electricity cost. I would say research it well before getting into it. I am a beginner miner so my risk is low.

@DaniTalksTech
@DaniTalksTech 3 жыл бұрын
Hi AnotherOneMZ, it depends on what your goals are. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who thinks this is an easy way to get rich, because it's definitely not. The profitability in the last couple of weeks skyrocketed then fell down hard. They are still better than 6 months ago, but still you have to keep that in mind. So, if you are able to get reasonably priced msrp or less cards, and you have cash that isn't needed anytime soon, it would be a good idea to set up a mining rig. Also, keep in mind your electricity costs. That affects it big time!

@DaniTalksTech
@DaniTalksTech 3 жыл бұрын
Hi MaxLife, Thank you for your support man. In regards to your question about $ per day, it's very tough to answer that question accurately because that number fluctuated big time depending on many reasons (difficulty, competition for mining, price of the coin). I am personally mining ethereum at the moment and at the time of filming this video, each GPU was making around 3.5 USD per day. Since then it dropped significantly to around $2.2 or so. So it's quite tough to predict that. Also, in July, it is expected that profitability will decrease further. The best way to estimate profitability is to go to Nicehash at: www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator

@@obadiahoickle8972 sorry I missed this comment. So if you undervolt and overclock the GPUs, each should consume 80W (assuming it's an rx580), 6 of them would consume 480W. Add in the CPU, mobo and other items. Let's say you hit 700W or 0.7kW. Your daily consumption of electricity would be 0.7x24 = 16.8kwh in a day. Multiply that by the rate and you'll get your daily electricity cost. At 0.16/kwh, you're looking at $2.6 per day.

Yes most definitely. If you find a cheaper cpu go for it. Profits go up and down. Right now it's roughly $3.5 CAD per day after utilities.

hey you have for RAM a CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 8GB - wen i wanne use a mixed rig like 4 gpu s from 8GB and 2 GPU's from 12 ore 16 GB do i need more RAM ? like 1 card from 16 GB ore 32GB ? ,

Not at all. The RAM is mostly for the operating system. If you have 4-8 GB you should be good to go regardless of the GPUs you have in your rig.

@@DaniTalksTech thanks for the fast response , thanks for the quick response, you are the first of the ones I follow who actually answer one of my questions, the Ram wich one do you have use , Corsair CMK8GX4M1A2400C14R - - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400MHz - - Corsair CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R -8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400MH And the for the PSU - if I cannot find the indicated power supply as you have, is there an alternative brand, or can I also use an HP 1200 WATT Power Supply, if so which cables should I purchase

@@gcdesignchris6247 Hi Chris, I got this RAM CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz CL16 Memory - Black (CMK8GX4M1A2400C16)

@@gcdesignchris6247 As for your PSU, you can get any brand as long as you have enough wattage and PCIE cables for your GPUs. If you're just starting with mining, I suggest getting an ATX PSU (corsair, thermaltake, gigabyte, EVGA, Deepcool....etc.). However, server power supplies are significantly cheaper than regular ATX power supplies.

First GPU absorbs fresh air but the other could not, because of GPU's too close and absorbs other gpu's heat.. You should make a little bit distance each one them and use 2 fun in front of all gpu. That's make a cool condition and low power consumption. BTW good work, well done. Congz.. :)

Thank you Bilge. You're right. Since then I have managed to add some fans and the temperatures are very good now. Less than 70 degrees on all of them. They are very efficient. Thank you man! :)

They are 8gb. You're getting very good MH with a 4GB card. Is it on a rig or in your PC?

@@DaniTalksTech its a rig, you need to watch Red Panda Mining to make adjustment to your card to get higher hash rate and to cool down some of your gpu..for what i know you need to download some apps to maximize the hashrate, fan setting etc..Happy Mining!
