When did you start, dates? I would also talk about the near universal clear-cutting. It’s false to promote old growth forests, the remaining old growth are not protected and are tragically being logged as of today. Vancouver Island is nearly a giant tree farm.

Most of this hike was in August 2024. A few days hiking in July and Sept. One of the major industries on Vancouver Island is forestry, which I did try to highlight by filming logging trucks and whenever we hiked through cut blocks. There is a lot of diversity though! We hiked through old growth forests as well and they are spectacular!
