Damn...didnt know this would be hard work. but i did it.... use this if you want :) 0:58 I dont have to eat = tabenakute mo ii (desu) 1:19 te mo ii = i may/ you may do something/ can/ it's okay to do~ (used to ask permission or give permission) 2:15 te mo means even if 2:36 naku comes from nai/ make informal negation for verbs then change nai to naku then add te mo ii 4:59 you dont have to watch = minakutemo ii 5:23 without "ii" it means even if I dont watch (minakutemo) 5:39 I have to watch = minakya/minakereba ikenai/ikemasen you can also say minakya ikemasen 6:21 Do I have to watch = minakereba ikemasen ka 6:39 You dont have to watch = minakutemo ii (desu) yo 7:35 this "yo" is used when you give permission or when you tell someone something new 7:51 when "yo" is put after the "dont" for example: tabenaide yo = hey dont eat it (sounds harsh) 8:31 tabenaide ne = dont eat it, okay? (sounds softer) 8:52 the "yo" particle is always used when you tell someone to do something or tell the listener new information 9:39 Do I have to watch? = mi nakereba ikemasen ka/mi nakya?/ mi nakya ikenai?. You dont have to watch = minakutemo ii desu yo/ mi nakutemo ii yo 10:06 You dont have to eat everything = zenbu tabenakutemo ii (desu) yo 10:43 You dont have to eat it if you dont like it = suki janai nara/kirai nara tabenakutemo ii (desu) yo 11:36 You dont have to say it = iwanakutemo ii (desu) yo 12:08 You dont have to tell me if you dont want to = iitakunai nara iwanakutemo ii (desu) yo 15:00 (nitsuite (no) = about) (A ni tsuite no "noun") (A nitsuite "verb") 17:10 to talk about something = ~ni tsuite hanasu 17:16 to talk about the news = nyusu ni tsuite hanasu 17:28 talk about that/it = sore ni tsuite hanasu 17:39 you dont have to talk about that event/ that matter = sono koto (matter, event, what someone did) ni tsuite 18:06 mono v koto (mono = object, something you can touch) kowai mono = scary thing, scary object, scary existence) 18:29 kowai koto = more about event or action (something scary that you do - bungee jumping, sky diving, you mum yelling) 20:00 I dont have to wake up early tomorrow = ashita hayaku okinakutemo ii (desu) 21:18 you dont have to do it = shinakutemo ii (desu) yo 21:45 you dont have to study = benkyou shinakutemo ii yo 21:55 I have to study = benkyou shinakya/ benkyou shinakereba ikemasen 22:05 you dont have to wait for me = watashi/watashi no koto o matanakutemo ii yo 22:42 you dont have to stand up = tatanakutemo ii yo 24:20 you can change "ii" to daijoubu 24:43 Light doesnt have to study because he's smart = Light wa atama ga ii kara benkyou shinakutemo daijoubu 25:44 you dont have to understand everything = zenbu wakaranakutemo daijoubu (da yo) 27:39 if you want to add "yo or ne" after a noun or na adjective, you have to put "da" 30:26 it doesn't have to be perfect = kanpeki janakutemo ii 31:22 it doesnt have to be big = ookikunakutemo ii 32:02 The hotel room doesn't have to be big = hoteru no heya/ beya wa ookikunakutemo ii

Funny...I was watching this video, then I moved on to a Japanese movie. Then, I hear one actress say, 「なら行って。」. I know it has a different meaning, but I’ve watched this movie a few times and now that phrase stands out to me. Crazy!!!!!!

Hey Misa! I know this is an old video to comment on, but I'd love to see a video on the different ways to use 時 in relation to particles. I seem to get corrected a lot about using Xの時は、Xの時、&時 but I can never understand the context. Sometimes people tell me not to use the のparticle, while I hear other native speakers use it and so forth. Maybe you could do a mini lesson on it? :) Anyway, thanks for the great content as always!

In other to remember this, I like to connect with the expression "temo" in the sense of "even if", so "haitte mo ii?" would be like "is it ok (good) even if I enter?". It is just the way I remember things and also makes me see people speaking japanese as much more polite

31:35 大きい as an i-adjective? when, how, why?
@_mb_b_th_v_b_5 жыл бұрын
It can be either. Not sure if there's a different nuance or anything or if one is more common. It can be 大き(な) or 大きい. Although if I type "oo" on my Japanese keyboard, 大きな is the first option so that may hint at it being more common.
