Facing the worst terrors the universe has to offer, all the while knowing he is not some ceramite clad genetically engineered super human or some arcane psyker dabbling in powers he has no hope to control. At the end of the day a Guardsman knows, he and his lasgun are the true shield of the Imperium.

I have always loved the Guard simply because I can do whatever I want with them. Over the thirteen years of playing 40k, I have collected tons of guard armies and I have always made them mine. I LOVE the creative aspect of this hobby, I wish those of us who wanted to make things unique was a larger subsection of the community. It gets tiring seeing the same armies all the time.

First idea that springs to mind is a guilder contact for Necromunda, as I need a few for an upcoming campaign. Those fancy armoured torsos with jewels on them would be perfect!

Thanks for the great video! I loved all of the old artwork- a lot of it was stuff I’d never seen before. awesome, i was planning on starting a tempestus army, i was going to paint them on the 54th psian jackals scheme, but since you have this invitational going, i might even go the extra mile, and do something cook with them, perhaphs something like mechanical spider legs strapped to their backpacks so that they can get across hard terrain, man im getting pumped.

Great vid, I like blanch’s art work from back in the day it was so different. I like hearing about the background info of the 40k universe, and of course not every world is the same. The Human race is so diverse in this universe that you’d be unable to name every variation (without looking it up) there is. Love ur content guys, keep up the good work.

Nice video! It's great to encourage people to kitbash their imperial army. But it's a pain if you need about 200 men... at least there are a ton of fantasy imperial bit's to use. I actually liked the ventrilla troops from one of the last WDs

I'm making a Renegade and Heretic army modeled after conscripted guard using chaos cultists. They are lead by a fallen librarian who is continuing the great crusade and hasn't had any contact with the imperium since the hours heresy and is still loyalist. He raised some guard by force on world's he visited. The hard part is going to be getting 100 autoguns for my conscripts.

I've always liked some of the more "Modernized" Imperial Guard troops, like if they had plate carriers and outfits that wouldn't seem too outta place in our time yet with a flare of Warhammer thrown in. Like if an Elysian drop trooper was made by Neill Blomkamp.

If a Guardsman surrenders, I think he would hope that his captors kill him or take him very far away from the Imperium. Guardsman who surrender are not so much "rescued" as they are punished for putting their life above the needs of the Imperium.

Yes there actually is. In one of the B.L. books u read about a regiment that uses boats similar too the ones used in the deltas of Vietnam. From patrol boats all the way to rubberized pontoon boat like the ones used by special forces for insertions. So nearly any type of Guard Regiment can be raised its just a matter of figuring out the rules for such a formation.

Luc Arseguel Well, I think a leman Russ is a rough descendant of the Mark 8 Liberty tank. Basically think the tank in the third Indiana Jones Movie.
