How do you figure 39 years? 1st year was 1985, 2nd was 1986. 3rd was 1987. Keep counting and you'll get to the 40th in 2024. Remember: the 1st year of something isn't the 0th year of something.
@HarmlessChildren10 ай бұрын
Only one year goes by between 2 Wrestlemanias. "Example: When you turned 10 years old, you celebrated your 10th birthday, which was also the 10th anniversary of your birth. An ordinal is always one number ahead of the anniversary. Example: On your 10th birthday, you began your 11th year." (Thanks Uni-watch) @dgthe3

Wrestlemania has turned 40 years old? Why, it's the 40th anniversary of Wrestlemania! Wrestlemania 1 = 31st March 1985. Wrestlemania, as of the release of this video, is currently 38 years 360 days old ('cos leap year, innit?). WhatCulture succumbing to WWE-itis? Yes, I am fun at parties.

@dgthe310 ай бұрын
@@yomamasofat77 Yep. Celebrating 40 years of something isn't the same as the 40th anniversary. This is the 40th year of WrestleMania, next year will be the 40th anniversary.
@NeverDieAloneMusic10 ай бұрын
@@yomamasofat77 A good way to think about it is with "birthday logic". On the day of birth, you're not automatically age 1. You have to wait a year, same as with anniversaries. This year may be the 40th Wrestlemania, but it's the 39th year of the event (Wrestlemania 1 can be considered "year 0"). Thus making next year the true 40th anniversary.

29:06 Personally, I enjoyed this moment. Sure, I wouldn’t have minded a thorough match, but I feel that it culminated the way it should have. At this point, Daniel was the type to literally grab his championship and his girlfriend and go home the second he began struggling in a match. As champion, that works in his favor. He was also the kind of guy who had been berating his kind and loving girlfriend the whole time he was champion. So, the best, and funniest way to keep a runner from running is to catch them off guard. I actually laughed so hard at this, and I’d like to thank Daniel and Sheamus for making such a memorable moment for me to see.

This list-more than any other-proves that WWE/WWF were more about aesthetic and spectacle more than in-ring wrestling. I can applaud them on this since it’s worked for them, but the amount of coverage here (and everywhere) on these shows say a lot more about how they “did business” more than how they booked good matches. Love what you love. There’s no shame in that, but I LOVE professional wrestling more than sports entertainment. I’m so glad there are companies out there that buck this tired (for me) trend!

11:09 woah woah woah hey!! That is one of the best matches of all time. Whatcha talking about whatculture?! It begins with technical wrestling, slows down the pace and they work each other with great psychology, then they amp it up with some bursts of high energy action and high spots and than slow it down. Wrestling has peaks and valleys and take you on a roller coaster. It’s not spot after spot after spot and no sells.
