The knots are caused by the retightening process. It happens when the loctician threads the hair through the base of the loc and it doesn’t go all the way through. Ask her to not tighten so close to the scalp in that area. Maybe leave one rotation off at the scalp area.

My consultant recommended that I do more cornrows than just the 2 braids like you have. I was having bad slippage and unraveling on my edges. So I went one step farther and I braid or twist my edges separately and do 5 cornrows in the middle. And it has helped tremendously! I also took the retie class to help her to keep my edges intact. I'm 8 months in and loving it!

That's a great idea! I want to do the retie class for sure just so that I can retie my own hair if I ever need to.

It’s my back two rows that keep unraveling. Thinking about just getting a under cut but currently it’s just being braided to allow for more growth.

Great video/tips! I noticed some bunching on my microlocs (5 months in) that I plan to see what my loctician recommends

For some of mines. I've wet them combed them out up to the Loc...re loc it or braid it down to the ends. It's my hair and I want the uniformity!
@sislockedloaded6842 жыл бұрын
I have done that with one or 2 then braided down the remainder once I unbunched it.

I think that is bunching. I've had that happen in the crown of my head. My loctician told me to lightly pull the loc as I separate them after a wash. She repaired a few during my first retie. Your hair looks great

This was advice given to me as well. I'm definitely going to take time to separate the hair after my next wash.

Thank you so much, i have some bunching also and three locks on the back that are so tangled! I've been told that it's because i don't braid and band when i wash my hair (i wash my hair every week). I have sisterlocks since 3 months only
@sislockedloaded6843 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I thought we had to braid and band until the loctician says its OK not to. I have braided and banded every time because I don't want to deal with excess bunching and unraveling.

I'm having that same problem with the back of my hair

*Whispers* Why doesn't she braid/twist/pin up the short ones in the back separately?

Thanks for your video. What did you find out about the knots? Were you able to get them repaired?
@sislockedloaded6843 жыл бұрын
No - the knots are still there but I’m hoping over time they’ll just blend in.

I like you, have not mastered the sisterlocks processes and issues.

I'm sorry but she is being obnoxious in my opinion like it ain't even that real to go to these extremes just cause you decided to go on a "loc journey " which means let your hair do what it naturally wants to do 🤦🏾♀️
