Yes always remember Chevening is just one route to achieving your dreams, there are so many more scholarships out there. I actually know people who rejected Chevening for other opportunities

From Africa, I got rejected back in 2018 and figured Chevening most likely take people with interest in Policy, Political Science, Development Economics, Journalism. If you want to study something different like Investment or Finance you are better of applying Scholarships offered by the School. Unis like Stanford in the US offer full financial aid for African students. One thing, Do your GMAT early.

Hey Stephen thanks for your comment: I agree and disagree with you to a certain extent. I think the more important aspect is aligning your course to the areas of DFID in your country. Especially, now more than ever in light of UK- Africa Investment Summit it is easier to allign Investment and Finance courses to the new relations. The UK will be looking to renegotiate bilateral treaties and contracts with African states. Infact in some countries like my own, the leading goal of DFID is economic growth.

University of Derby and Nottingham Trent University also offers some scholarship. Derby has full tuition scholarship for post graduate international students and NTU has 50% tuition scholarship for international post graduate students.

Hi Rima , I’m glad you were motivated. So it differs, some Universities offer full scholarships, others offers partial scholarships. Whereas others allow you to apply for more than one scholarship to make it full. It’s worth identifying your Universities of interest and checking their websites and reaching out to their admissions teams.

Thnx for the video, but most of those universities dont provide 100% scholarship like chevening. Mostly 25% of tuition fees.

My advise to you is not to panic. Just focus on getting decent grades in your bachelors for now. The rest will fall into place

Afsana Nziza hey Afsana, it totally depends on what you want to to study, that will advice what Unis you should apply to and what scholarships are available to you. I’d suggest you take time going through some of my other videos where I share those tips.

I think the Furhom Scholarship is only for East African, taking 1 from each country with the exception of Kenya where they take 2. May I ask how you applied for the commonwealth scholarships? I was told it is really corrupt and when I tried to get a nomination from one of the organizations, I was told, unless I am a Kenyan civil servant, they won't be able to help me, which was really discouraging especially since interns aren't considered workers. The Standard Chartered Scholarship looks really good, I just wish LSE would explain the criteria for choosing a person. What I realized, the bigger the University, the better the funds they have. Unfortunately I didn't start my GMAT earlier and now I am left racing against deadlines, so definitely do the GMAT and /or English PT early enough.

They have a lot of applications from Uzbekistan as well. Besically they have refused a lots of talanted and future leaders of their fields. Besically, people whoever rejected they they all lost their faith on Chevening scolarships.

They’re subject specific, have you checked those out? There’s also the World Bank scholarship for developing countries but I suspect the deadline for this year has passed.
