Technically he separates from the forerunner ship when it’s in atmosphere. His armour also gets pretty banged up for it despite locking the armour down. Even noble 6 with a re-entry pack on, takes significant damage freefalling from space onto reach.

9:19 Riding with the enemy has actually worked out in my favor many times. One time I specifically remember was on Valhalla in Halo 3 where I got on the gunner seat and the moron driving thought that you could drive off into the water on that map and I got in and on the way there gunned down a shit ton of his teammates and when I jumped out when we reached the other side of the map he got out and I killed him and then took the banshee at the enemy base and continued to rack up kills. On other occasions where there were cliffs to drive of if I just got out at the last second while the driver went off the cliff. I’ve also tricked many people into getting in and then driving them off.

Little Schach I will gladly explain Melee has always been a one hit to take down shields, originally, if you did damage to someone's shield and then decided to melee them, the damage would carry through to their health, making them easier to kill if they managed to jump out of melee range. Basically, somone with really low shields could be killed by 1 or 2 smg shots if someone decided to melee them.
