40 Year Old Barn Find! 1981 Honda CB650. Will it Even Run!? In this video we reveal the new build! A 1981 Honda CB650. I'm the third owner to tackle this project. Can I save it?!

Starting Fluid WIll Do The Trick Just Got This Same Bike Hopefully Will Have it running in a couple days ! Do you recommend this bike for a beginner ? I usually only ride motorcycles but excited to get this going.

I did use some starter fluid to fire it up the first time haha! and yes, If that bike is running good and is safe (new tires, brakes, etc) it would be an okay first bike. There's better ones out there maybe a little newer with ABS, maybe a little lighter and balanced better but my first bike was a '78 CB750. Thanks for watching! Good luck with your build.

These were called 'nighthawk' in the UK, they were the cb650 custom version.

Nighthawk is CB650SC, which is 656cc. Hydraulic clutch, shaft driven and has a OD gear. The bike in the video is 627cc, chain driven and has 5 gear.

Are those Kerker mufflers? I had this exact bike 30 years ago and someone had replaced the stock exhaust of 4 individual mufflers with these dual 2 to 1 pipes. Sounded cool I guess but the bike never ran right and I really think it was that exhaust screwing with the back pressure. I'll never know.

I actually took it to a local shop that specializes in vintage bikes (I posted a KZbin short about it). That dude has had it for over a year and hasn't touched it haha. I'll be getting it back soon just as I left it and restarting that project myself. Stay tuned!

I wish my 82 650 look this good I am going to get rid of it it's a night hawk needs a lot of engine work I don't how to do the only thing is I sold my car to buy this thing when I went to see the the had it running after we trailer it home it only runs on starting fluid if someone wanted to buy or trade I would trade it for just about anything main thing is I don't have funds to put into it

pfft its a honda theyre practically indestructible i remember riding my 125m atc without oil for hours lol it would shut off usually when it ran out from smoking so bad id just top her off with used oil lol rode it for years

You will get (at best) $1,500 for that bike in average running condition. Not a popular model. Ask me how I know... If it aint a CB750, 900, 1000, nobody wants it .

Call me nobody then, because I love this bike. Simply because it was the first cool bike I owned as a kid, sold it when I was in the Navy and couldn't ride it. Kicking myself ever since. Got my eye on one right now, and I know I'm paying more than 2k for it.
